I wouldn't preorder with Base. Bloody awful company in my experience.

Why is this so much more than the other platforms?

I've ordered loads of Vita games from Base (admittedly never on a pre-order) and I've always been really happy with their service.

I'd agree, having used them lots too. I've always been really pleased with Base and BaseCH.

This looks like a contender for humble bundle later on, which has known to be very profitable for games that go on there. No reason to wait for it for 6 months before it arrives on the switch. However if you are the hip jet setters always on the move, and like to play video games so much that they can only manage it on the go, between multinational company board meetings then yeah buy it on the switch, you beautiful unicorns lol.

Or some people like me prefer portable to play around the house when it's not convenient/possible to use the TV. Having a young family means I don't get time for games often but occasionally do either when a kids film is on or late evening when the wife is watching something I'm not interested in

I've ordered loads from Base.com this year [for delivery overseas to Reykjavik, Iceland] and everything has been despatched early/on time and then arrived on time.

Firstly, if you want a game on release day, forget it. I've had games turn up days after they've been released. Secondly, I've found their customer service to be pants too.

I was going to say, gonna wait for the reviews, but, it's looks like a very, very poor man's Zelda.

I think this will be $29.99 on the US eShop. So if you want to go digital then $30 of eShop credit can be had for about £24

Personally I've been waiting for this game for a long time, impressions seem positive so I want to support the developer at launch. I don't consider £25 a lot for a good 8-10 hour game.

I do agree with you about supporting a developer but you DO realise devs seldom get money per copy sold these days? Especially indie devs. Depending on the one developer who made this game, he would have sold it to the publisher for a certain amount. There would be agreements (if he is smart) for an additional payout if the game surpasses a certain number of sales depending on the platform sold. if the game is masseively successful over an extended period of time he can negoatiate residuals from sales (which never happens in gaming).

Heres some more facts for you. Nintendo is notorious for treating its devs like utter garbage. To the point where even microsoft, who have been known for wanting a bigger cut pale in comparison to how nintendo use and abuse and often leave their "supporters" in the gutter. Their distribution agreements are known to be draconian. I mean this IS a company that wants every penny out of videos people make about their games on youtube. Please tell me you are aware of this.

As this is a single developer game, he would have got his payment upfront from the publisher. Since the game would need porting to different platforms, I doubt the original creator would have the time or resources to oversee the ports, hence it would be undertaken by some other team. The more hands involved the smaller the cut. Put on top of this the fact on the switch you take out nintendo's cut, the publisher's cut, the cart makers cut, the marketing, do you really think you will be supporting the developer of this game?

If you truly wish to help the developer buy it digital. On steam or preferably GOG if it coming to gog. But let's be honest you just want it for the switch because you want to support nintendo. The multi billion dollar company with the cushy mascots that remind you of your childhood. Haha. *rolls eyes* Oh the noble heart.

I'm buying it on PC, through humble store since I'm a monthly subscriber. Works out at £24 plus 5% of my purchase goes to a charity of my choice. Don't have a Switch yet, will get one for Mario mind.
