its pretty poor - my gf and i stayed there and found a pair of womans punders in the bed i was expecting a mint on the pillow not a pair of skids

bonus is there is a 24 hour bar when we stayed the barman told us to buy a carryout from a shop and let us drink it in the bar - one of the plus points

I really get annoyed at the way CRM's is ripped off both by his home city and by
souvenir makers. He had to leave Glasgow because he couldn't get any work there.
i work around the corner from this hotel and walk past it 3 or 4 times a day coming to and from work and when going for lunch. i also drink in a few bars nearby so quite often go past it late at night and at weekends.

judging by it's entrance, location and clientele I have always assumed it was a homeless hostel.

Probably the grubbiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Tired, dirty and a bit depressing. Still, I guess I should have known by the low price - you get what you pay for and, having not paid a lot, I certainly didn't get very much. The room was dull, grotty and a bit smelly. The bathroom was rank. The shower was like being under a tepid sprinkler. Breakfast was depressing too, although at least it was included in the price. Reception staff were not terribly communicative - my "good morning" was greeted with a dismissive shrug of the shoulders. I won't be back. Sorry

...and heres one from 1 week ago ;

the hotel has been refurbished. it was clean and staff were lovely very helpful.it was 22.50 a night each for bed n bfast ...ensuite room with shower,central heating ,book through booking.com.
couldnt fault the place for location,value for money and food was lovely. beds changed and room cleaned daily with tea,coffee n biscuits plus bottled water. there was a bar in lounge..
breakfast was help yourself to toast,muffins,cereals,fruit juice,tea coffee and cooked to order fried breakfast with choices,inc veggie(thank goodness) maps to help find way around city and advice on places to go etc
you would not get this value for money where we are from. for a city and central location it was excellent...would certainly stay again.
I would like to say first and foremost, i am not knocking you in any way, shape or form... but let us be honest.. On TripAdvisor, it gets two and a half from five..... the percentage it give is 33/100, it is placed number 23 from 38 hotels, it has had 254 people review the hotel..... 20 of these said it was excellent, 53 said very good, 69 said average, 39 said poor and 73 SAID TERRIBLE.
Let us just say it how it is, the majority of people who have stayed there believe the place is not a nice place to stay... i am sure you will find a better deal to post, not sure if it is because of heat that you are not happy with people giving negative comments... but, this is a community, where we share deals to benefit others.... who will benefit from anyone staying at such a ghastly place other than the owners??

MrShed has it spot on, I'm trying to put it across with as balanced view as I can, negative comments and cold votes don't bother me in the slightest.

I've booked it for me the wife and 2 friends, we normally stay in either the Travelodge on Hill Street or Holiday Inn Riverside for our yearly (often twice yearly) day of shopping and night on the lash in Glasgow City Centre.
As it's my friends birthday on the 14th, we allways go either the Sat before or after Valentines thats why |I know this is cheap for that weekend, especially considering the 14th lands on the Saturday.
I trust that it won't be as high quality as the Campanile when we went there a few years ago ( only cost £1 per room per night) which started the trend of our night out, we also went to an expensive Italian restaurant that year, nowadays we prefer to save some money and Travelodge and Wetherspoons tick our boxes, we go for the craic, and save our money and spend a lot more on the family summer holiday.

I'll trust the 76% of folk who say they'll be back, do I expect the Ritz? No, I expect Travelodge quality, but it certainly won't be as bad as the EasyHotel on Hill Street I'm sure (we had the misfortune to stay there 2 years ago).
