Does anyone know how this compares to the Roald Dahl exhibition at London South Bank that was on earlier this year?

They're quite different. The Wondercrump Roald Dahl exhibition (which has now moved to Cardiff) is an 1-hour interactive tour through Roald Dahl's life, featuring seven different installations which explore a different aspect of his life. The tour features some items from the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre archives.

The museum, on the other hand, features three interactive galleries with lots of items from the archive, has Roald Dahl's original writing hut, free daily drop-in crafts, a shop and a cafe. You can also explore the village of Great Missenden where Dahl lived and wrote for 36 years, spotting some of the things that inspired his work. Take a look at the Museum's virtual tour to see for yourself!
LOL think I saw in the credits somewhere it was RD story. *gulp*!
Recently watched the new Jungle Book film. Very good watch.

It's a lovely little museum but people should bear in mind it is VERY small but there's a nice level of interactivity and an area for kids to have a go at creating something themselves.
Great Missenden is also a beautiful little village, I'd recommend walking up to the church at the top of the hill where his grave is and you'll find the BFG's footprints. ;)
There's also a nice little cafe, free drop-in crafts every day and village and countryside trails where you can explore the local area and spot some of the sights that inspired Dahl, like Matilda's library, the house that inspired Sophie's norphanage in The BFG and the petrol pumps from Danny, the Champion of the World.
