Couldn't see it posted, you get a roasting joint inc gammon, basted chicken, small whole chicken and beef meatloaf. A pack of root veg, a bag of green veg and a bag of potatoes for £5. Might be a larger selection of meats but the food section in my store is tiny. Be quick these were flying off the shelf!!!

I don't suppose you know when this deal is on until do you? My lady is currently on holiday and she'd love to cook me this when she gets back if it's still on.

Go get a life. Bet you only ever eat chickens that have a great life, holidays abroad every year and live forever.

Oh no wait a minute, you probably eat chicken when you go out and they don't live forever because they have to die so you can eat them.

Don't suppose anyone knows what the vegetarian alternative is? They always have one in the Two can Dine offers.

I bought the Meatloaf in tomato sauce one with spuds, broccoli and carrots today - lookign forward to it.

There was gammon, chicken and the meatloaf, as far as I could see there was no veg alternative.

They also did a casserole for £5 too - mix root veg, sauce and diced beef / lamb!

Hope there's some left at my M&S

Lol, I try and cook anything and she insists on taking over, even when I'm not that bad really and she just burns everything. If it's still on next weekend then it'll be worth me getting I think.

Aye, we all have to die in the end!

Think m&s have slightly better chicken welfare rules than most, no antibiotics for example, coop chicken is also better looked after

I don't want to go on some moral rant, but I have to reply to this:

Indeed we do all die, so its the quality of life that matters. Eat all the chicken you like if the chicken has had a good life (and quick death). The problem is, supermarkets, and society in general, has forgotten that meat actually comes from animals. 2 lives for £5 - eat all you can. So what if it spent all its life in a box with its feet rotting off, it tastes good. Come on - eat it, but respect where it comes from.

Saw this today! I think it's an ace deal. All the chickens in my local were £4.80 to £5 on their own! I love a roast! mmmmmm I have to make roast potatoes with mine and have a Yorkshire pudding! x

Exeter?

I went outside there today thinking about this offer.. sobbed a little :(

there's no veggie option for this and my carnivore of a husband wouldn't touch the meat - the meatloaf looked really gross and the actually meat didn't have anything on it to say where it came from etc..I guess you get what you pay for and this is a cheap deal - but i expect higher standards from m&s and wouldn't say it was a good deal

Yeah they closed my local Simply Food. Now it would cost me £15 round trip in petrol alone plus at least £2 parking or £3.80 park and ride aaargh!

No chance sadly :( I'm waiting for her to get a job so I can retire before I hit 30, but she's taking her time getting a job, I'll be 29 soon! Seriously though, she's in America taking her mum with her and she does like a good meal just like I do, so hopefully this will be on when she gets back.

The vegetarian alternative is to live off lentils, have a pale unhealthy complexion and no sense of humour.
