Its around £30 cheaper than elsewhere and you are paying for the quality and the look, so its a good price.

No they don't, you can get Roberts DAB radios from around £40.

Most Roberts in the wooden old retro style cabinets start at £100 is what they meant I suspect

The main reason someone would buy this, is because of its look. It has the look of the classic Roberts radio of decades ago...... If you're more interested in sound quality, then a better buy would be the Roberts Ecologic 4. Its slightly cheaper, has stereo speakers and separate bass & treble controls.

Good radio for the price. Got my mum one before Xmas in the previous lightning deal. Usually just over £100

One more thing..... although Roberts radios are good and I do rate them, they are not the exceptional British made quality they used to be. They are made in China now.

In much the same way Dyson manufacturing is done in Malaysia yet people still pay the British-designed premium price.

Yup...... when a company has a famous name, they can charge a premium for that name being on it. Irrespective of whether it is a good or bad quality product, people are still prepared to pay a premium for that product.

Kitsound Jive also has the retro look and is of the same quality from around £60. I spent ages looking at Roberts and was well chuffed when i found the Kitsound. Definitely recommend
