Good price.

I'm tempted to buy it and I only have a bicycle.

Thinking of picking this up just for the few times I go go-karting, would save using sweaty rental ones

If you don't have a motorbike but are a sucker for a hot deal, these are also great for "bank jobs".

No trace of Rocc on the sharp testing website (although to be honest I take SHARP with a pinch of salt).
Halfords do sell these for a few quid more, maybe a good idea to go and try one on in Halfords before ordering to make sure you get the right size.
Hot.

Yeah, don't pay any attention to that. You could post a £1000 AGV helmet that's reduced to £300 and you'll get people voting cold as 'you can get helmets for £100' comments.
Some of the best deals I've got in this site have been voted cold by people who don't understand or get it, so don't be put off!

The irony cup overflows!!!! Just vote with your feet. I don't use garages that try to make me take my helmet off. I even had an argument at Tesco the other week when they had a go at me for wearing my helmet even though I was paying at the pump. I pointed out I'd already paid for the fuel before it was authorised but the little chappie still felt the need to run over to me and have a go at me. Won't be going back there again!

Yeah I can see the flip side of it, but common sense needs to be used. Taking off gloves, helmets etc can be a right ball ache.

I bought this about 2 month ago and they are good helmets.
I prefer a tight fit and went for the medium one. I normally buy large.
good company to deal with..they are helpful..I had bought helmet from them.

i take it off if they ask me otherwise I leave it on as I'm lazy and can't be bothered most of the time.
the counterargument could be made that its more polite to take it off if your talking to someone.

What is your problem with SHARP? I am genuinely interested to know as I am looking for a new system helmet and I was using their reviews as my guide.

I wear a system helmet and my face can be clearly see with the front flipped up. I just tell anyone who has a problem to call the police if they have a problem with it. So far no-one has. I am guessing they don't want to explain their sectarian, bigoted, policy in court.

The problem with SHARP is that they do uniform impact tests - I.e. Forehead, side of head etc. It is straight forward direct impacts. How often will an impact be direct? Not often. My main issue is that the helmet industry know the tests, how they are done and in what areas. This means that some companies will purposely strengthen their helmets in the areas that will be tested, for the sole purpose of getting a 5 star rating, thus manipulating the system.
Finally, SHARP don't rate on aerodynamics, fit, acoustics, if the helmet is watertight, it's fit, loads of other considerations.
Fair enough, use it as a very rough guide, but you might see a helmet like this one which is 5 star rated for £30 - personally I'd get a higher spec, more expensive one from say AGV or Schuberth which has maybe a 3 or 4 star SHARP rating.
Best thing would be to go to a bike / helmet shop and try a range of helmets on then read some reviews.

I have one like this with the dark visor that comes down. It didn't take long for one side of the visor to break.

I work in a bank and the no helmet behind the counter rule was brought in by the EU health and safety brigade to stop causing offence to those who don't like motorbikes. Political correctness gone mad.

That's what I did, and although I've only used it 3 times in as many years, it felt worth it. Also stuck a cheap action camera mount onto it.

Hard to see any info about these. Looks like they have some connection with Buse the german motorbike gear company. Anyone with better info?

Has not been Sharp tested, Rocc don't even feature in any of their tests. The manufacture has failed to send any for testing. Why you might ask.

I have bought 3 helmets from ghostbikes and all 3 had faults such as the vents falling off.

Thanks, I usually buy Schuberth system but the last one I bought was a Bell. I have used the Bell every day for over 2 years and the flip is now loose and won't stay up properly. I was looking at a Schuberth but was concerned by the poor impact reviews. Their 5 year warranty is a joke as it does not cover normal wear and tear so a loose flip won't be covered and they usually go loose after 2-3 years. I only ride a scooter in Vietnam so I don't care about aerodynamics, or acoustics as I never go above 40mph and fit is more about head shape than anything else.

I wouldn't want to rely on a plastic helmet to save my life. Would want GRP at the very least.

Bought my less pretty Arai chaser for less than £200 and I trust it to do it's job. My sister stopped at an accident where a guy (in a 30mph zone) hit a concrete post splitting the helmet and removing his jaw. Watching her give him mouth to ? really brought it home not to scrimp on the necessities.
