Any reason for the cold? Can't find it anywhere else cheaper, it's a good price even used as a hub for the pc.

I voted hot, seems a good price to me.

cold, cos u can get an unbranded one from poundland.. for you guessed it, does the same job just has no sticker on it

just overpriced game accessories

You can get just about anything unbranded these days, but you get what you pay for. This is a good quality, officially made & licensed product - at a quarter of retail price. I know which one I'd use for my guitar hero....

I highly doubt an unbranded one without AC power supply would power a drumkit, bass, microphone and guitar. This is a steal.

Do post a link where you can get a 'better quality one without the sticker', that is a/c powered? This is a dedicated hub made to handle the high power requirements of up to 4 instruments, even if you could find a mains 4 port hub for a fiver, I doubt whether it would do the job half as good as this. Most equivalent 'unbranded' hubs cost £10+ so to get a branded and dedicated one with 75% off @ just a fiver is a steal.
#10
I'm not scouring the internet just to prove you wrong. lol. But you are wrong about thinking this would do a better job than any other mains powered hub.
#11
Anyways about the deal, I reckon its a good price for a peice of rockband branded hardware andyes you may be able to get a cheaper one elsewhere but for this actual product its cheap, Heat Added :)

if you cant show a cheaper better one then whats the point of arguing that point?
As far as a cheap one operating 'better' than this one i think that when they both work they may be the same but a product which is licensed should be known to be a high quality/durability and perhaps outlast your cheapie.
which works better? rockband one for a fiver or a broken cheap one?

doesn't seem to have a sticker on either! :)

That the best you can find? Let's see, number 1) this hub is American so the a/c power is different from UK and 2) they don't even ship to the UK, it's minimum $8 within domestic USA shipping, so even Americans would have to stump up $15/£10+ for this :whistling:

As I said, first result on google. I only used it as an example to show you that you can get the same thing for cheaper. Anyway your getting off the point... I'm not here to find you a better deal. I'm just saying that this is not necessarily better quality than any other mains powered hub on the internet just because it says "rock band" on the side.

but its not necessarily a bad deal just because it had rockband on the side either.
i dont think anyone is saying that a sticker makes a difference to performance.
what they are saying is that officially endorsed items are usually of decent quality as companies dont want to be associated with junk.
whilst the rockband overpricing may have made full price a bad deal (dunno) the reduction has probably made it a good deal and the 'sticker' irrelevant.

Thanks

I bought one just for the sake of it as you never know when it will come in handy, would not have paid £20 for it but a £5 -Quidco and 13p in reward points
#20
Voted hot, hopefully these will still be in stock when I get paid :)
#21
Only just getting into the music games, got Rock Band drums on their way to me today. As far as I can tell do we need more USB slots on the 360 ?. Isn't the Rock Band drums USB and possibly a mic, but most guitars wireless apart from GH 2 ? Thats still only 3 ?.
May still by at this price as it seems a nice little unit, most other hubs at the £5 mark are normally to big for the use.

Great price for a decent hub. I purchased it last week to use with my laptop. It's a good quality product
#23
>> This is a good quality, officially made & licensed product

It's a USB hub. That's all. Any device following USB standards should work just as well, so long as it also provides external power.

>> a product which is licensed should be known to be a high quality/durability and perhaps outlast
>> your cheapie.

I spent a lot of last year selling memory cards for consoles. CeX themselves sold official cards at 12x the price of unofficial ones. I took appart every single make of one I got hold off, and guess what. Unofficial ones not only had identicle components in many cases, but in one they even exceeded the original's component specs (albight by a single degree of operating temp).

Take it apart, take a cheap one apart, find the component specs, let us know which one comes out top and I'll believe this is better than an unbranded one. Until then....

I'm not saying this ain't a good deal though. £5 seems alright, if it's ac powered.

You haven't got a clue what you're talking about - unbranded ones are the same as the Rock Band ones, with, guess what? Just the Rock Band name on it. There is no difference.

What're you on about? They're cheap because they're all made en masse in China and Taiwan and then rebranded for extreme profits, hence why these originally retailed for £20.

Voted cold, available cheaper elsewhere.

Cheapest I found on ebay was £7 delivered from Hong Kong - unbranded.

This is £5 from a reputable shop in the UK and is branded.

The 360 has 2 USB on the front, and one in the back. An adaptor usually comes with the full kit. Of the guitars, only GH2 guitars are wired on the 360 :)

Any chance of a link or are you talking out of your back side like all the other posters knocking this deal?
#29
what is it exactly

Does an adapter not already come in the instrument pack?

I had one for my Wii included and it bus powers 4 instruments with no problems at all.

Is there a problem with the xbox and ps3 versions?

Well said mate. Licensed products are not better in most cases. Like people have said, a brand name will just have some guy in China going around the factories and choosing items to buy, brand and resell (essentially). Obviously there are exceptions, but you can't really go wrong with a USB hub, lol. Unless you just put a lump of cheese in a black box with some female USB ports. But why would anyone bother manufacturing a USB hub that didn't work properly? No wholesaler would buy from them, and they would lose out.
banned#32
Without getting into the argument, it's still a good price compared to what you usually find it at!

:)

There are stories that the USB hub included (free) in the Rock Band instrument pack burnt. http://xbox.joystiq.com/2008/10/20/rock-band-usb-hub-starts-electrical-fire/
This, Rock Band USB Hub, is very good quality and deal for the price. The included USB cable is about 1 meter length and it is Powered. I don't know where to get cheaper ones with similar features.
I have hand couple of cheap Powered USB hubs and one of them damaged my Laptops mother board due to current over flow. This one is well made.

Heat added.
