great price.
bought these last time round for my PS2 - use them on Guitar Hero World Tour. You cant play the tutorial, and the yellow pad works as a cymbal - other than that, they work a treat.

they are huge though, only buy if you have the space... or you dont care about lack of said space
#2
do you get the game only or the drums only. It seems too cheap to get the whole kit.
#3
its just the drums, as in the title

It's the drums only as titled.:)

There priced really good for the piece of kit you get.

So do they work properly on PS3? Does every pad work as it should?

does this work on GH world tour?

I'm pretty sure it does, but the setup would be different as the GH world tour drum kits have symbols on them as well. So may well not match up.

if you think these are big you should see the high end rock band 2 ones which are £200, they're massive

Does anyone no what game I have to buy with this? My son has the Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (PS2) so I'm assuming that wouldn't work on the ps3.......

oops just read the post properley and it clearly does work with it as its for the ps2 aswell lol
#15
Play.com have rock band for £14.99, these drums were actually made to pair with that game so that would be a good start :)

Guitar Hero 3 was guitar only, so the drums will be of no use there. You will basically need a "band" game - Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero 5, Guitar Hero: Metallica, Band Hero, Rock Band 1 or 2, RB: Beatles, RB: Lego, etc.

PS2/PS3 compatibility is something I'm not sure about though, so it might be worth checking the specific game to make sure it works. Instrument compatibility charts are at http://www.rockband.com/compatibility and http://cdn.guitarhero.com/ghhub/gh_compatibility.pdf

Guitar hero: If its on the PS3 it will if you update via the internet. I found this out myself.

RockBand 2 on both the 360 and PS3 should work fine with all the GH guitars from GH2 onwards. On the PS2 it should work with all the GH guitars from GH1 onwards, at least if the Rock Band compatibility matrix is to be believed. (http://www.rockband.com/compatibility)

can these be used on the PS3 on it's own without a game? as my son would love to bang away at them and hear the sounds on the tv, kind of making his own music as i think the rock band games will be to hard for him to follow.
#25
Thanks a lot for the help. So does that compatibility chart confirm these will work with Guitar Hero 5? Thanks again =)

No but there is a practice session on the game you can bang around on.

Nope this is for the drums only and doesn't include any software.

You can find it here £14.98 with First class recorded del + Quidco @ Shopto.net for the sake of the 7p difference in the cheapest.

Sadly there is nothing you can do just with the guitars, you need to buy some kind of game with it. You can probably get one of the PS2 ones for cheap somewhere, which you can use on PS3 if you have the old 60gb model.

Great find!
The drums come with stick right?...
Just checking as HMV have sticks for sale seperately.

Does anyone know if this works for Guitar Hero 5?

we bought these last week in gamestation for 20 quid and yes they do work with guitar hero 5
#34
Just bought Rock Band 1 & 2 for PS3 from ShopTo and these drums for under £60, bargain!
#35
hey all, though i would post answer to couple of the questions already asked all in one big go, we bought the exact same set from gamestation last week for couple quid more.

Yes they do work on guitar hero world tour + 5 but not on games before world tour (as there was no drum section on those games)

you can not do tutorials on guitar hero with these

instead of 5 coloured buttons at the bottom of your screen that you get with the guitar you only get 4 botton on G-HERO and the foot pedal works when you need to hit a full bar note (youll know what i mean when you see it)

you can still use them to activate start power but it doesnt tell you how in the booklet, my 5 year old figured it out by hitting yellow & blue at the same time

they are suitable for little ones as they can play beginner which is hitting any pad they want just intime with the notes.

hope this helps a little. they are really good drums really fun for everyone.
#36
great find. my boyz will love these 4 xmas. thanks
#37
These are very loud compared to the rock band 2 drum set, which currenty aren't available in uk to buy. I found a set on ebay though and have replaced the heads with meshheads so they now feel like a real kit, as well as being whisper quiet.

If you're wondering why i bought a rock band 2 set just to rip off their heads, the mesh heads miss notes on the rb1 set.

Would appreciate if you could provide some quick answers to these Q's guys

My Dad likes listening to tunes by Led Zepplin et al and air drumming along.

I was thinking of getting this for him for Xmas. I'd also have to buy a playstation 2 for him and a game.

He's really into drums (not guitar or singing or anything).

Do you think this would be a good present? (e.g., not too teenager-ish)?

What would be the best PS2 game to get for a drum enthusiast?

Can you download tracks on to the PS2 version? or is that just PS3? (I can't stretch to a PS3)

thanks

hi, got answers to a couple of your q's

you cant download extra songs as the ps2 doesnt connect to the internet.

dont thinkit is to childish as we play on them as a whole family (including daddy)

re games you either need to buy guitar hero world tour/guitar hero 5/band hero these range from £20-£35 or rockband £15 ish rockband 2 £20 roughly. so depends onhow much you want to spend. check out either guitarhero.com or the rockband website to get full track lists so you can decided which songs he may like best. personal opinion i like GH5 best so far.

hope this helps.
