Good deal if you're size 11.

Modern rockports don't seem a patch on those sold when I got mine in the mid nineties; I still have them and although a bit battered they're ok. From what I've seen of the modern versions I'd be surprised if they lasted 2 years, let alone twenty!

I have the new versions and the old ones and you're right. They don't last but at a 3rd of the price, you can't complain. Wouldn't pay more than this for the newer ones though. Best way to check is the stitching. They still do make better style ones and they have the sole stitched to the uppers. Grab them if you can find them! Heat added for this deal if you're after a pair.

I have a pair in a box under my desk at work from the late 90's. The stitching has come away on one of the toes. If interested for information they say they where made in Portugal.

the sole is different to what? these are the 'Marangue' boot not the 'Milwaukee' popular in the 90's

I had a pair of Umbwe trail that lasted for over 15 years. They were made in Portugal. The current ones are made in Vietnam and the company was bought by New Balance holdings inc in 2015.

Yeah point taken .. The boot is versatile in that it allows the Adidas trackies to be tucked into the socks , and retains the stylish cut of the said trackies on those special occasions when you wear them long.
