This is my first post! Long time reader, first time poster :)

From the site:

Rockport XCS mens Boundary lace up boot in black. The Boundary boot is engineered with advanced technologies for unparalleled comfort & performance. Cushioned ankle support for extra comfort. 5 eyelet lace system for extra support. Rockport logo to the back. Leather upper, fabric inner & synthetic sole.

Seems like a hot price to me for these quality boots. Delivery is either £3.95 for the standard service or £5.95 for next day delivery.

The deal expires at midnight on Sunday according to their homepage, so they'll be going up again soon!

Why? Rockports seem ok to me. Are timberlands normally better made? Pondering a purchase!
#4

Nice boots, just ordered a pair. Slightly chavish but what do I care, I'll be wearing them for work with trousers not tracky bottoms. They look pretty stylish, comfy and hard wearing, for 34 quid you can't go wrong....Thanks OP heat added........ (Get the cider out!) ;-)

Slightly chavish but what do I care,

Does slightly chavish mean wearing something because it has a label?
If so, then yes, this is chavish. I don't get labels myself.

In my opinion it's not just because they've got a label, Rockport's are part of the unofficial chav (or charva in the North East) uniform. They're still nice boots though, especially at this price. I must admit I've never heard of 'Get The Label' anyone bought from this site before ?

Rockport and Timberland are both chav brands now - which is a pity, because they used to make some nice stuff years ago. Now the emphasis is on fashion for the X-Factor generation --- the prices are still as high as ever, but the quality isn't there. You couldn't use a pair of Rockport boots as real boots, they're just for show.

I've been buying Rockports & Timberlands since 1998 when holidaying in the States. They were worn by middle class and sensible old people and were by no means the chav generation. I remember when Clarkes and the like were old generation too. Sometimes, common sense prevails and decent shoes do come back into 'fashion' but they're still decent shoes even if some of the people wearing them run the brands image down. I've still got pairs of both manufacturers shoes10 years later and don't care of the image anymore, I buy them just because they do the job and last if looked after! No I don't have Burberry cap and yes, I'm in my thirties too! Good price OP, well done!
#27
Nice one OP. Ordered, so I am about become a chav!

Hopefully these will keep me upright in the snow too.

Good deal. I've a pair of these but find them to be ever so slightly small for the quoted size so, if you'll be wearing them with thickish socks, I'd recommend going 1 size up.
#30
my OH has had a pair of these for years, they still look good and are hard wearing. Think they cost him over £100.
#31
oh heck, Size 10 now sold out. I had a pair in my basket and they sold out while i was looking for other stuff to buy.

I disagree, Timberland 6 Inch boots are as good as ever, I'm on my 4th pair and they're fantastic. I don't know what you mean by 'X-Factor Generation' or what you class as 'real boots' but you seem to be wearing rose tinted spectacles.

Yes, this happens a lot, but I don't understand why

You wouldn't expect somebody to take something from your basket in Sainsbury's

It happened last week with the Regatta sale too: people looking to add a few other items.

is this a fault with the individaul sites, or just 'one of those things'

I was lucky, I got a pair of 9's
#34
are these ok for size

do you order your own size or a size bigger ?

I can only speak from my own experience. Ordered my usual size (7) and they are definitely on the tighter side of comfortable, ok to wear but feel a little pinched after a day's wear.

With thicker socks I'd definitely go for a size up, with everyday socks it depends on how snug you like your shoes to feel.
#36
great deal but only have size 6 left. They are much better than Timberland IMHO.
#37
I ordered mine sunday morning size 9, just got an e-mail telling me its cancelled :(
#38
ordered mine on Saturday morning size 10 just got an email saying there canceled :(
#39
Mine arrived today, impressed with service.

Ordered the Rockport boots, they only had the USA and European sizes on box and on the inside of boot, so pressumably imports from a different market.

My other rockports have the English sizes on them.

Got mine today, too big (size 10)
