Unmatched in its class for stiffness, performance and value, the Recon Silver makes high-end features accessible to everyday riders. Incorporating external rebound adjustment and the control that comes with 32mm upper tubes, the Recon Silver will take your riding to new places.

Technologies:
•Fixed Coil: The coil spring is a simple, time-tested design with a smooth feel characterized by a linear spring curve.
•Power Bulge: Material reinforcement in the lower leg at the bushing increases stiffness and bushing durability.
•TurnKey: Ever hit a big rock with your fork locked out? Well, we have too. With this patented RockShox blowoff design, the ride stays smooth due to the small-bump compliance where unexpected hits are absorbed immediately even while locked out.

Specifications:
•Travel: 100mm
•Weight: 2228g (4.91 lbs) Coil
•Damping: Rebound
•Spring: Coil
•Adjustments: External Rebound, Spring via Preload, Coil
•Steerer: Steel 1 1/8"
•Crown: Forged 6061 T-6 Hollow Aluminium
•Upper Tubes: 32mm 4130 Tapered Wall Steel, Chrome
•Lowers: Magnesium, Post Disc Mount
•Maximum Rotor Size: 210mm

(Weight based on 265mm 1 1/8" steel steerer, 9mm QR)

Not really on the same thing, but managed to get some retail Rock shox sid teams for 350.00 from noah ark.

They were over 400 online, I called them offered to pay cash right now and we did the deal, fully boxed with stickers ect..

The ones on merlin or these are OEM steerer cut, so make sure they will fit

Pity they're disc only. I'd like some at this price with V-Brake mounts.

Good price. Always thought Recon's were lighter than that though.

Tempted...the recons on my bike are about 6 years old now.

Good price, good reliable forks.

Hey guys,
I just posted in Rockshox Dart 3 thread to ask whether it would be an upgrade to my RockShox Tora SLite 100mm that came with my Specialized Rockhopper Comp 2009. I was told that it would be downgrade indeed and I should stick with what I have.
Now, how about this one? Is this an upgrade compared to RockShox Tora SLite 100mm?

Thanks

Its better.

Dart is basic, then its tora, then its recon, then reba I think.

Revelation might be in there somewhere too :) been a long while since I bothered staying up to date with these things,

It would but it's not much of an upgrade. The Dart range is the bottom of the range so ignore that.

This Recon is fairly basic with no motion control damping and it's also fairly heavy with a steel steerer. It won't be a noticeable improvement over the Tora so I would recommend holding off as you'll see higher spec forks at this price point over the year.

Ok, thanks both of you.
I will stick with my current fork and probably use this money to upgrade my Avid Juicy 3s to Shimano SLX brakes.

I wouldn't have thought you would notice much difference between the Juicy's and SLX to be honest. I've had three different sets of Hydraulic Disc brakes, Giant MPH, Hayes Stroker's and Shimano Deore. They all seem much of a muchness to me.
