Now if only we could find a cheap cable...

I jumped at this deal on GetGamesGo for around £9 a month or so back and then had to fork out £20 for a cable on Amazon which was the best price available at the time.Turned out to be quite an expensive bargain after all.

What made it worse was seeing Asda flogging boxed editions of Rocksmith 2014 on 360 and PS3 for £15 with the cable included only the following week. Cable is multi-platform so I could have saved myself a fiver. :(

Cable issues aside, Rocksmith is great and does actually teach you how to play if you put the time in.

Am I right in thinking the cable is cross platform? Own this on PS3 (with cable) but since I don't play on that much any more, for just over 8 quid it might be worth me picking it up on PC if I can just plug the same cable in via USB.

Asda in Long Eaton were selling Rocksmith 2014 for £15. They had several copies on the end of an aisle in the entertainment section which was a bit of a surprise.
Even if it had been the earlier edition, the cable bundled with it would have made it worth the purchase price as the cable hasn't changed from one version to the next.

You can import tracks from an older version to the latest but It's never quite that simple.

Your previous DLC purchases will be transferable without any sort of re-payment, as long as you’re moving them on the same platform (i.e., trying to move your original Rocksmith DLC you got on your Xbox 360 console to a copy of Rocksmith 2014 Edition on PlayStation®3 system will not work). This means that Rocksmith 2014 Edition will see new DLC releases in addition to the library already established with the original Rocksmith.

If you still own the original Rocksmith, you will be able to import 52 of the original songs into the new Rocksmith 2014 Edition for a one-time music label relicensing fee of $9.99. As part of this process, all these songs will be updated with the new tunings, techniques, tones, and other enhancements new to 2014 Edition. To do this process, you will be prompted inside the main menu the first time you launch, or you can access it from the SHOP as the "Song Import" pack.

Don't worry about imports from older version as I'm pretty sure custom songs will work. Visit Customsforge for more info.
