Rogue Warrior is a story-driven shooter that provides team-based tactical combat set in massive, contiguous levels using Unreal 3 streaming technology. Central to the game's single and multiplayer experience is the idea of a freeform battlefield, where players are given the freedom to choose how to complete a given objective, allowing for creativity and surprises, rather than heavily scripted events and tightly contained spaces traditionally used in this genre.

An advanced AI system allows NPCs to react and fight realistically, see and hear others, and respond as a team. Rogue Warrior offers a new take on the multiplayer experience, with 10 gameplay modes and a system whereby maps are created using tiles that are selected by each team. Rogue Warrior's tiling system allows users to experience over 200 maps in both day and nighttime settings. In addition, the campaign features solo and on-the-fly cooperative play for up to four players, where anyone can join or leave an existing campaign game at any time without having to go to menus or save progress.

In Rogue Warrior, you play Dick Marcinko, leader of an elite SEAL unit trapped behind enemy lines in North Korea on a covert mission to assess the threat posed by North Koreas nuclear arsenal. When war breaks out between North and South Korea, you must try to lead your team back into South Korea while greatly outnumbered and with no support and limited resupply. Your journey will take you through a variety of never-before-seen environments inside of North Korea, including submarine pens, shipbreaker yards, prison camps, and more.

will it be better than COD 6 ?

doubt it so no point, better than oblivion, much like if any racing game being better than forza 3 so they might as well give up making games unless they are better

Some brief first impressions of the game from Joystiq:

Thanks!
I've cancelled my £24.73 pre-order with thehut (as they hadn't altered the order details accordingly) and have pre-ordered the repriced £17.73 version.
I think it's worth a gamble, and I think it'll probably fetch at least £15 on ebay if I hate it.
#5
Probably better to pick up a bargain copy of the rudely ignored Chronicles of Riddick. Saw it for £7.99 preowned at Gamestation and it's not that much more new.
#6
or sell to CEX for 20/25 cash so make a few quid out of it if its that bad :D
#8
If it is still being made by bethesda it will definitely be worth a punt at this price

Only being published by Bethesda. The better news however is that it's being developed by Rebellion. A team with a wealth of quality games under there belt. I doubt this is going to be competing for any game of the year places but the price is definitely right.

Unfortunately thanks to this site I have about 7 games that I'm currently playing but haven't finished.

£24.85 now. Although that is still a good price. I just hope the game is good as I can't find any previews I can access from work. Any of us pre-orderers up for some coop this weekend then?
#13
No 'Order Despatched' e-mail for me yet :-S Anyone else got one?
I'd be up for some co-op if it was still in the game ;-) They apparently removed it to make the single-player campaign a lot 'tighter'.

UPDATE:
Sold out 27 November 2009
Release Date: 27 November 2009

Err... Do they not have enough to meet demand?

I think mine arrived this morning. But the good old reliable postman decided he wouldn't knock on the door to let me sign for it. He must have thought that I preferred a trek down to the post office as he always does the lazy git.

Good old Royal Mail. I for one have no sympathy for any of them.

I hope they haven't removed the coop as that is one of the reasons why I bought it (although the tile system for multiplayer also sounds like it could be good)
#15
I havent got it dispatched i ordered this within a minute of being posted, but nothing says awaiting dispatch so if its not even sent it wont come tommorow on the day it released  and itll be a day LATE or more of the release date. tut tut @ The Hut :p

Sorry, think they removed that too!

Still no news from thehut for mine... It's currently "processing" / "Awaiting Stock Pick" so I guess it'll be posted in a few hours! So much for arrival on the launch date.

To be honest im not too bothered im still playing my way through Assasins Creed 2 but i mean EVERY game should ATLEAST be here on release date and probably to keep up with sites like Play.com and Shopto.net they should come a day or so early  not a day or so after the date thats poor :x.

Also they have pushed the price to £24 but the order is still saying "Awaiting Stock Pick Up" but the item says its "In Stock" :?

Also found a user review saying its a shocker so may sell to CEX then.

It is really bad gorskino. After blasting through MW2 this game feels, looks, sounds and plays horribly. The frame rate is never consistent and the aiming is awkward, stiff and the enemies seem to be able to brush bullets off even when you've head shot them. The instant 'action' kill is too easy too perform as as long as the AI can't see you you can run up behind them every time. I haven't even played for an hour yet on the hardest difficulty level and I think I am already 1/4 the way through the game (2 levels complete out of 8).

The only potential saving grace for this game is the interesting sounding tile system which has been implemented for constructing the multiplayer levels. I haven't dabbled in the online aspect yet but presumably the problems I've encountered in the single player will be carried over to multiplayer so I can't see it being played again after I have gamerscore wh0red it.

To be honest, my advice would be too stick it straight on ebay still sealed and get it down the line for a few £ if you really want to give it a go. Its a shame really as I have been looking forward to this game for a while and its surprising Bethesda would be involved with such an unpolished and basically broken and unfinished game
#20
Yeah i will to be honest cba playing it if there isn't no coop :x, i heard from a user review that this game is using Unreal Engine 2  not 3 which has been out for a while :? weird im supprised by Bethesda putting there name to these sort of games its getting to a point of saying they can only do Fallout/Oblivion as WET sucked this game probably does as well :p
#21
Its not a probably suck...... it does suck. And there is no coop. You might be right about UE2 although it is surprising how poor the frame rate is if that is true. Haven't played WET yet although it is on my list of games to get once I can get hold of it for sub £10 off of here

I've requested a cancellation. They should have sent a quick e-mail if they can't get the stock, instead of stringing me along.

EDIT: "Failed Cancellation" - ah well I'll give it a go, then stick it on ebay once I've nabbed a few achievements :)
#23
They still haven't posted it - why the fcuk can't I cancel it?!
#24
Just posted apparently! 3 days after launch, after I pre-ordered... Nice(!)
#25
Completed this last night on the hardest difficulty. Took about 4 hours and what is the ultimate slap in the face is that the achievements points for the easier difficulties aren't stackable so you have to play through the campaign 3 times!!!!! O....M....F....G....!!!!!!!

No one is online either so I don't reckon many people are going to be 1000GS this piece of monkey balls.

Is anyone who has this up for some matches tonight as its the only way that we as a nation of forum dwellers will fully complete it.

Sounds fun :?
Maybe lots of people are still waiting for their 'pre-orders'! Sounds a lot like Damnation though, when people won't even give multiplayer a chance after the deep depression caused by the campaign.
I might have a game with you next week when I'll have a little more time and less planned for the evenings - if we both still have it!

I'll still have it..... I don't believe in selling games.... I'm a hoarder! Give me a pm on here and i'll pm you my gamertag. I was playing last night and disappointingly, the tile system they had talked about implementing for multiplayer has gone and from what I can see there are only 6 maps. Although at least there were some people to play against. Albeit only 2 a team and the maps are pretty huge, so not much fun. Everyone I spoke to online also agreed that this was the biggest ball ache of a game any of us had played on the 360. Its nice for us Brits ande Yanks to get along for once!!!!

Yeah I mentioned Thursday night that feature was stripped too - apparently the whole project in progress was scrapped and started over by an alternative (supposedly) competent team - but then rushed.
Seems to me that Bethesda are losing their hard-earned reputation this year just to get some extra revenue!
I'm generally a hoarder too, but some games I know I'll never play again (like Damnation!) are better off making a small loss or gain now on ebay than becoming clutter...

Yeah you're right although I just like building up libraries of games which then become 'clutter' once the next generation of consoles are out. I'd heard damnation was bad so that will be one i definitely avoid.

Bethesda are starting to go downhill IMO. There used to be a time that I knew that any game with their name on it would be awesome. After playing rogue warrior I don't really believe it anymore. Its a shame the original got scrapped as it looked like it had the potential to be awesome. Instead we get this steaming pile of turd :(
#30
Finally got mine yesterday, ridiculously late - but I'm impressed that it's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be. It's just more 'gritty' than we're used to, and ok it's pants compared to MW2.
I'm now concerned I'm going to become Richard Marcinko in 20 years though.
I'll add you when I'm next on, autolesbona :)
#31
Still waiting for mine, I've just mailed them yet again and told them not to expect my custom again. Second time on the trot this has happened to me with The Hut. I'll be voting cold on any deals from the hut as it's more hassle than it's worth.

Just for your amusement, here's my thread with them, newest at the top - note the dreadful forum-style English and their refusal to answer my questions:

Stock wasnt avaliable sorry but once stock arrived we issued the item to you straight away, and your more than welsome to return the item back for a full refund if you would like.

------------------------------------------

You didn't answer my questions. I didn't ask why I don't have it yet. In list format:

I ordered this Monday 23rd - why wasn't it delivered - (or even posted!) - on or around the Friday 27th release date?

I tried to cancel Friday 27th - why wasn't it possible to cancel then, when it wasn't despatched until Monday 30th?

------------------------------------------

I am sorry that you have not received your order.

Your order has been sent to you on 30/11/09
Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days [...]

If you have not received your order by 15/12/09. then please contact us and we will be able to look into this further for you.

I'll certainly think twice about using them again - but I'm a sucker for a bargain should they have any in future...
#33
Same with me they didn't answer my questions at all just resent the standard email about "if you have not received your order by etc etc"

I'll give it to monday then I'm filing it with the card as Item never received.
