This or fire stick?

Do you have, or plan to get Now TV?

Fire stick all the way. I had 3 Roku before but I have now sold them all to replace with 3 fire sticks. The ability to sideload apps and dare I say it install kodi takes it head and shoulders above one of these

Roku has better ip tv.

Fire stick has Kodi.

Fire stick you need an Amazon account & link it to a payment card.

Roku, you don't.
#5
amazon stick is better

Roku 3 is 49.99 on amazon prime at the moment. It is brilliant.

What's good about iptv? Is that free to streaming like Kodi?

+1 for Fire Stick.

so the choice is sideload kodi (as long as u can) on amazon stick so u can stream illegal films via illegal chinese/Russian/P2P addins or the Roku which is a far better product but no illegal streaming?

Thinking of getting one of these to replace my Firestick. I don't use Kodi, and the Roku has the advantage of having Amazon, Netflix and Now TV apps.

I know the Roku has a very basic UI compared to its main rivals, but for a little device that basically gives access to Netflix, U.K Catchup, Amazon Prime/Instant and Now Tv it's terrific. Personally I use the Roku 3, because I always prefer to have a streaming box Wired to the network instead of over Wi-fi, so the Ethernet port on it is handy. I also really like the little remote having its own headphone socket on the Roku 3. If there's something I want to watch the Mrs doesn't, I can always whack a set of headphones on, and the Mrs can read her Kindle in peace. Win-win.. :)

Bought this at the weekend - the performance is dreadful. System is slow to respond to button presses when navigating YouTube/Netflix for example. Sometimes pressing a button twice thinking it didn't register then the stick catches up. This device is several years old and it really shows. Do not buy it has a really short life remaining. Wish I had bought Amazon Fire stick- Argos won't let me return this piece of rubbish because I've used it.

FUZZY_LOGIC:- Go for it... lots of deals on Roku atm - like Roku 3 for £69.00 via Amazon (normally £99.99), and; Roku 2 for £54.99 from Amazon, Argos or Very Network (otherwise £69.99 to £79.99), plus; Roku Stick at £29.99 from Argos, Currys, PC World, or Very Network (normally £39.99, or even £49.99). Any/all of them will give you access to Amazon Video, Netflix and Now TV as well as offering a selection of 3,000+ other Roku apps to choose from.

DREAMSofUBUNTU:- Are you referring to the Roku Stick, when you say "not allowing search and stuff or any of the voice related features"? Only... "Roku Search" will return results for Amazon Video, Netflix, NowTV, SnagFilms plus Google Play Movies & TV across all current generation UK Roku devices (including the Roku Stick). ALSO: In terms of "voice related features", you can use the Roku mobile app for Android and iOS devices to "Voice Search" across all current generation UK Roku devices (including the Roku Stick) just as those in USA are able to with the Voice Search Remote for the U.S. Roku 3 model.

Since you're stuck with it... try the Roku mobile app for Android or iOS (instead of the supplied Roku remote) and see if that's any better for you ;-)

ANDROID: Roku App from Google Play Store

iOS: Roku App from iTunes App Store
