Not found on here yet so here goes...

Looking around my local Tesco Home (Neitherfield, Nottingham) - Saw this deal for a Rolson 26-piece Multi Purpose Tool Set for only 75p

Practically disposable tool kit!
Cheap quality but ok for the most basics of jobs around the house I guess - for less than a quid!.

I have put an image of the receipt in the post but will try to upload the image elsewhere so the doubters can take a look ; )

* Note - the case is actually black with red-handled tool, other than that they are identical to that pictured.

these are really poor standard tools but handy for very light work and for the price you may as well get a few sets, good spot.

The little mini screwdrivers are actually good for fiddly jobs like tightening up spectacles or opening them silly battery compartments on kids toys.

The rest of it isn't too much good though - but handy to have around.

Several of the three for a pound magazine offers give these as a gift - must have at least 6 of these............
#8
I got one of these free when I signed up to a trial subscription of Auto Express

Mulit purpose???

I got these when I signed up to a PC magazine trial

Same here only 6 issues of auto express as well for my quid.
#12
The pliers of our free set snapped. Worth it for the small screwdrivers though.

I wouldn't recommend these no matter how cheap. I bought a Rolson mini screwdriver set from Tesco a while back and the tips start bending as soon as you put any pressure on them, or they skip and start stripping the screw head.

I bought a Draper one from Amazon instead for £5.83 and it's excellent. Decent tools make jobs so much easier to do, and I'm happy to pay an extra fiver for an easy life :)

This is the one I got: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Draper-09550-31-Piece-Precision-Screwdriver/dp/B0035FO4X6/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1308344086&sr=8-6

I got this with a £1 magazine sub. It's great for small projects. I use it mainly for repairing electronics, which is what i think it's actually designed for.

This is great value for money.

These kits are commonly used for promotional giveaways so they're not actually Rolson as such, just have their name on it. I've got a few from when I had a large quantity printed with our own logo and they are handy to have in the car or office. They were just over £7 each to have branded. Definately worth 75p. Good find.

Martin,
The one you are quoting is for a precision screwdriver set. I have one of these Rolson sets (or equiv. in the bottom of my kit bag for when I haven't got proper tools to hand) and I would agree with all the comments, however you do get pliers, snips, nut spinners and a screwdriver with a bit set including Torx and different Philips bits. All in all I think it's good.

These tools are not even hot if they gave you a pound with them. Bought a pliers and cutter pair from tescos and the pliers didn't even meet together to grip. Screwdrivers bend if you use them on screws (not sure what their designed for) .

Tryst me spend £5 and buy a Draper set from Amazon. Excellent for money.
