I was in my local Tesco today, and noticed the 2 1.3kg tins for £10 has finished, though noticed 1 sel still advertising the deal on Roses.
So grabbed 2 tins (not being greedy) and they went through at £7.99 each = £15.98.
Went to customer service desk, and they honored their double the difference policy. Hence i was given £11.96 back for being overcharged.
Making this £2.01 a tin.

I wouldn't normally post these overcharges as seperate deals, but these tins have been placed all other the store in different places, and it's highly likely many other stores would have missed removing a ticket or 2.

So keep your eyes when next in Tesco, and if you see a sel with the offer on, grab yourself 2 tins for £2.01 each.

Good tip but if your local store have not missed any tickets then offer still available at all Sainsbury's stores (excluding Locals & Centrals) until 6th November.

That might explain why my dad was lied to in tesco the other week.
My dad complained to the manager of his local Tesco the other week because when he noticed some cheese he'd bought because it was on special offer scanned at full price, an asistant went off supposedly to check the shelf for the special offer ticket that had been there only moments earlier and claimed there wasn't one, so he went to look himself and it had been removed. I don't think he even got an appology.

some tesco sotre will not honour the refund. i have been shopping in tesco horsham and remembered they do that about a year ago but recently got a few items mispriced and they only refunded the difference to me... i also noticed that not long ago there has been a notice of the changes in the refund policies but never really get to know what it is really about. I just presumed that they stopped their previous refund policy... anyway... that will be a good deal... probably you got lucky if they refunded you the full amount... :)

Wouldn't surprise me some of these supermarkets use dirty tricks - you should have threatened to report them to trading standards and insisted they refund the entire shop there and then - bet they wouldn't do that stunt again

We had a similar situation with a joint of meat when the policy was you got it for free.
The label had disapeared, when they went to check.
Fortunatley i noticed a security camera in the isle, so called a manager and explained what had happened and insisted they look at the video footage as evidence.

The manager, just honored the deal without checking, probably because a queue had built up by that time, or perhaps it was a dummy camera.

Whatever the reason we got a £20+ joint of beef for free.

Nowadays when this happens, i go to the cs desk for the refund whilst my oh hovers in the isle where the ticket is to ensure no foul play:-D

by the way, the best price for the 1.3kg will be 2 for £9.00. This is true for last year and also for the previous year for the both the Celebration and Quality Sweets (both 1.3 kg). These roses were packed in 2.2kg tin last year and the best price was £15 for two tins. Anyway, hope this info will be useful.... :)

lucky for the people who get full refund from TESCO. I know that is probably ours rights but it seems like a lot of cases I have seen, the CS have insisted NOT to abide the refund policy but happy to take the item back and refund the money. I have seen customers who have to be very PUSHY in order to get it... eg. request to talk to the manager and make a bit of fuss about it. For me... I just felt like I don't need the hassle if its only for a pound or two.... :)

They have no obligation to honour it if they've left the ticket there anyway.

What a strange thing to say.
Surely policies are set out by HO for all stores to adhere to.
Care to explain why they don't have to follow their own policies?

Here's a news snippet i found on the reasoning why the policy was changed to double the difference, aaahhhhhh free 360, those were the days, though wonder who bagged the chicken nuggets :giggle: .........
