Have seen same post but at £50, Just came back from wallpaper shopping and spotted these instore.

Now selling at £34.99

It's the set with the Dish included, all fittings and the freesat box.

It does say HD whether it is or not I can't comment.

I spotted them in the Merthyr Branch (south wales)

I didn't buy it, I bought a new box yesterday :( Typical lol!!!

worth a punt at this price

I spotted this in my local B&Q the other week. I was tempted. Is it just a matter of setting it up to my HD Tv? I presume that I wouldn't be able to download HD content on my exsisting Toshiba Hard Drive.

bargain

I paid £70 plus from screwfix

this is well worth it as you get bbc hd and it1 hd and loads of free channels!!

Just to clarify;

" It's the set with the Dish included, all fittings and the freeview box. "

This is not a Freeview Receiver, it is a Free to Air Satellite Receiver.

Freeview is only available via a TV Aerial.

Gutted, Might take mine back for refund and then rebuy :D

Why do that? Buy a new one at lower price and return with old receipt saying you cant use because you have been informed your neighbours massive tree blocks the signal path?

There is a list here. Not sure how up to date it is though. If you already have a Sky Digital dish up it is as simple as just plugging it in and searching for channels.

If you have one of the "old" Sky round 60cm satellite dishes up already you *might* be able to pick up a load more channels, and a hell of a lot in HD, but it won't all be in English.

Russell

The dish must point to 28 deg East for english channels. If your 60cm dish is very old (installed between 1986 and mid-90's), it may point to 19 deg east and you wont get any english channels. So better check that first. In any case you will have to change the LNB (which, I understand comes with this B&Q set).

Is this a freeSAT box?

Yes the OP's description is still wrong, it's not Freeview; it's not actually Freesat either because you won't get the Freesat EPG. It is a satellite receiver for free to view channels though.

They were £34.99 by the doors at the front of the store but at the back the exact same one was priced at £50. Hadn't all been marked down a man said.

Worth a check.

Correct, this is not a Freesat or a Freeview Receiver, it is a Free to Air Satellite receiver, as you suggest, there is a difference.

I am fed-up with our V+ box giving a poor signal on most of the channels, so am looking to replace. Can this (or the HD version) be connected up to a PVR to record/replay stuff for a reasonable cost? (Or does it do that already?)

Nope - C4 HD is currently encrypted on the Sky platform. You can just get BBC HD, soon BBC1 HD, ITV HD and Luxe HD.

each is an oxymoron anyway.....what's free about having to buy the equipment to be able to watch stuff that's not worth watching in the first place?! lol
