For most people, don't bother paying ANYTHING use something like this:
http://cdburnerxp.se/ works great (on more than just XP!) it's easier to use and more flexible than the embedded Windows disk burning.

If you have more specific technical needs, there are others to use, Roxio doesn't do anything particularly "clever" so don't expect to copy protected DVDs etc! You will need more specific stuff anyway.

I would personally go for Nero if I was installing a VERY bloated software package like this, although most people won't use many of the features anyway, so I don't bog my PC down with it either!
