I wish, then the DVD equivalent should be £1 at most for an inferior version :whistling:

I watched some of the English dub out of curiousity, a scream in particulary was so badly done in the dub. Might watch this tonight ctually, love the Potente.

Blu-ray discs do cost a lot more though. It's still a relatively young, high capacity format so the discs cost more to manufacture. Have you compared the price of a blank Blu-ray disc to that of a DVDR? :?

DVD is still a much more popular format so costs are recouped more quickly and then they can drop the price. New release DVDs are still £12+.

I have a LoveFilm account though and it costs the same to rent Blu-rays as it does to rent DVDs

The cost comes from the fact bluray needed whole new machines to produce them, (HD would have only required slight tweaks to current dvd production machinery incidentally) Sony nearly bankrupted itself getting bluray to win the HD war.

But on the subject of costs, do you know how much it costs them to make a bluray disc? Or a canon Ixus? Or a Big Mac? The cost is a lot lower than you believe. Bluray, despite it's shiney glory can't really warrant the whack in price, especially for re-releases of films.
As you say, rentals are the same. Should be the same for sales, I would invest and stop buyng dvds in favour of it, but the extra cost isnt worth it too me.

Classic film, should look great on HD.

excellent film, just bought it myself on dvd the other week for £5, so just over £6 for a blu-ray is a great deal!
