I may be wrong, I've been out of the game a while, but it seems to me we don'tneed faster ccomputers anymore. The CPU seems to never hit full usage unless doing something like video encoding, for everything else it's idling. The only thing we need faster is graphics cards, and only really because we keep increasing monitor sizes.

TBH I think this RAM should be fine for most use, how much are you planning on OCing your system? I have a 3570k, but have never pushed it past stock since the first day I got it as its plenty fast enough anyway!

Basically planning an upgrade of motherboard, RAM and CPU.

With regards to the RAM I was thinking more of the performance and reliability of the Crucial and Corsair products in my post. If there isn't really any real world difference then I might as well see which one comes in stock first as prices have jumped quite a bit receintly. Likely to run the RAM at stock speeds but was also thinking of having a bit of flexibility for the future regards to OCing to delay a little longer major upgrading unless necessary.

With DDR4 supposedly taking off later in the year/beginning of next I suppose there will be a new wave of motherboards etc I wonder if that will make a major change with how things advance software, hardware and gaming wise or whether things will advance at the same sort of pace.

Mine has finally shipped from March :D

Good news. Especially as it is still stating 1-2 months for Amazon under the 'new sellers list. The Amazon price now states £54.99!

I still don't know whether to keep this one on order or the Crucial Tactical oO. Thought some fellow hukd members in the know would reply back saying which is better to go for e.g overclocking ability, price vs performance.
