Grabbed this kettle after checking the PCWorld 750ti goose chase. This was in Wrexham store - No idea if it is store specific or national - maybe worth checking.

It has a 1.7 L capacity and the 360º cordless base which makes it perfect for either left or right handed users. Additional features include an illuminated on/off switch and a removable anti-scale water filter, to prevent scale particles from reaching your drink.

Anticalc filter for cleaner water
Automatic shut off
Concealed heating elements
1.7 litre capacity
Illuminated on/off switch

We've had two of these, on both the handle split within a short while of getting them, the second was the replacement for the first one, they died quite quickly. My £2 bodum car boot sale bargain came back out of the cupboard and is still going strong...

We have had this for a few months. Within the first month and a half there was corrosion around the top.

However for £5.50 you can't go wrong!

Just about to pop into the Wrexham store, was there any left on the shelves?

Checked the Super Store in Birmingham and its displayed at full price on the shelf, so might be store specific

Yeah there was one left, it was opposite the hoovers - not the normal kettle spot!

Good price, have some steam! I'll only use glass or stainless steel kettles and never plastic as they degrade into the water and mimic hormones in the body - yum...

Problem is these days that there are so many companies that don't actually make their own stuff - they just licence the name out to a load of Chinese firms, so there's no consistency; one product can be made by an entirely different company to other products bearing the same brand name.

Got the last one. Amazing value. Thanks for pretty much the only Wrexham store specific deal. Heat!

I don't think the Chinese are entirely to blame. They give these Chinese companies peanuts and want to a good product. Something has got to give and hence things like these happen. You can only take so many short cuts to save money. It's like slapping the words Finest or Special and then pay the same money as the year before whilst everything has gone up in price. .. My neighbour bought these and had to complain as they didn't taste any different!

I genuinely misread the post title as 'Cylon'. I'm glad I'm not the only one!

All you need now is the toaster to complete the set -

I don't blame the Chinese, I blame the rat infested English and American firms and their armies of investors and shareholders :D
