I have one of these - its really good, I constantly crush ice with it and every other blender / smoothie maker that I have used has broken whilst crushing ice.

Highly recommended & Voted Hot, I got mine at this price before, Amazon sell out really quickly of them so be quick

I posted the Ben & Jerry's @ @ Morrisons deal and that was almost down to -30 when I put it on, now it's over 400 degrees! I was just saying people always vote cold at the start for no reason!

Well surely ice-cream needs to be that temperature! :-D It does make you wonder who is voting sometimes.

Lol :)

It does and it is frustrating when you know it's a good offer (because previous posts for the same item have been really popular etc) and people are voting cold and not leaving comments as to why!
#13
just wait somone will vote cold and say, not a good deal i can make them with a spoon
#14
Added heat, good deal.

Does making your own smoothies work out cheaper? If you read on the side of the Innocent Smoothies they cram a lot of fruit into those cartons and I think it'd probably work out cheaper to buy them than to buy the fruit to do your own.

I tend to have more milky / yoghurty smoothies rather than all fruit, plus you can add a tablespoon or two of bran if you are not getting enough fibre, and so on.

I also have loads of home grown blackberries and plums.

Yup, me too... My little one loves milk, a bit of ice cream and a banana :) And as someone else mentioned a few posts back they're great for crushing ice :)

I got one of those too a while ago, and I really can't find anything bad to say about it for that kind of money. It tends to leave a few chunks if you put harder pieces in (like carrots in a soup) but only the top of the range would get me rid of that problem, and for a lot more money, so all in all, I'm very pleased with it.
Voted hot!

It's definitely cheaper to make your own, and by far. Even if you go for the best fruits available! Innocent's 250ml cartons and bottles sell for just under £2, and for that you can get probably enough fruit and juice to make at least double that.

But most of all, nothing beats fresh! All the goodness, not most of it, all of it!
Not mentioning that you can have whatever you want, not just what's on the shelves. And creating and improvising is part of the fun too, just use your imagination.

Brought myself one of these:thumbsup:

I bought a "you are what you eat" food mixer from Amazon around Christmas time and I've used it once, and would never use it again - its the cheapest pile of junk that I've ever used with the lid didn't not fitting properly. I would spend an extra few quid and avoid this make like the plague - you do get what you pay for. They are always on offer in supermarkets or online - which only means one thing, they can't get rid of them at normal prices.
#23
Surely to get the free delivery, you have to find something else costing 1p or more.
#24

No, free delivery is for £14.97 and above.
#28
is it just bascially a blender with a tap or just for smoothies? i.e. would it blend other stuff, like baby food etc?
#29
I've got one by the same maker which is a bit more sturdy looking than that one & it is great for parties. Buy a load of fruit ice & vodka, bung it all together & bob's yer uncle. The tap looks the same on this one & it can be fully disassembled for cleaning. It is best to clean the smoothie maker soon after use because the dried fruit can make the parts stick together, alternatively put some water in & whoosh it round if you're in a rush (e.g. you had a smoothie for breakfast & are off to work).

edit - here's mine: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Russell-Hobbs-12621-Smoothie-Maker/dp/B000A2WJHU/ref=sr_1_3/203-8771372-6850315?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1193242297&sr=1-3 from the reviews you might not want to buy one, but I'm totally pleased with mine.

Can this thing manage apples with cores/skins....?

I would think you have to slice it before putting it in. The instructions in mine say use ice to help break down the friut, I guess this would apply to most recipes.
#32
Ordered & voted hot. Thanks.
#33
I bought this the last time it was posted. It is very good for £14.99. However it is basic and really just for making smoothies. The tap can be a bit annoying too. It struggles to blend unless there is a fair amount of liquid in it. Does manage ice as well.
#34
just bought.

gone back up to 27.49 now!

I was also thinking about the innocent recipe book anyone got this? is it worth the £8

thanks
#35
Has anyone had theirs, I have TWO parcels waiting for me from amazon, and I have ordered nothing else...

Can anyone confirm if it comes in two boxes please?
#36
mine came yesterday, still boxed ( one box ) need to wrap it ready for the wife :)
