#3
around £30 taxes and charges when flying out of UK (thanks to tax man)
around same charges when coming back with a different name (thanks to ryanair????)

So prices starts from £60

Yes they don't half make things uncleare when initially putting in your dates.

£3 checking in fee each way
£6 hold baggage each way
£1 debit card booking fee

I know people don't need to have hold baggage but why on earth is the checking in fee an extra????

Got a deal for £46 return.

Web fares of £1.79 each way + taxes

Great post thanks!

How else can I fly please?

Check in on line up to 4 hours before no charge.
If you have an electron bank card no charge.
I went to dublin last year with this offer and it cost 4p for me and my fella to go to dublin. Shame its taxes included this time.
Thanks for posting. though

Ah...thanks! I wouldn't have thought of that. I have the traditional view that checking in included giving them your baggage i.e. checking in the baggage as well as yourselves.

hmm why are the prices different wen you actually choose the flight you want?

I beg to differ. I have just come back from a weekend in Barcelona courtesy of EasyJet. They advertised their flights from £10 each way. I had plenty of choice of £10 flights (unlike the Ryanair offer). The only addition was £1.50 card fee and a fee for hold baggage (I would have managed with just hand luggage if it was just me going... but splashed out on 2 hold bags). Anyway it was £57 return for 2 of us. Well suited!!

I have always liked EasyJet and they did well for me again this time.

And you flew into Barcelona, not some rural airport (Gerona) like Ryanair.

Last Year my family of 5 went to Barcelona (Girona) & Sardinia (Alghero) for under £10 each flight. We are going again to Sardinia in Feb for a whole £0.10. These weekends last year were fantastic & I vote 'Ryanair' hot. This deal seems to be more expensive due to AIRPORT taxes but when I consider the cost of getting my kids 4 miles to school every day by bus this is still a good price. I looked at Milan for about £36 per person

try getting a bargain flight !! from these so called budget airlines during any school holidays ,they are all the same ripp off merchants, the cost of operating these flights at these times are the same as any other

Webbosport, I went with a company called www.keytransfers.com week before last, works out at about £15 each return, sometimes a tenner, depends how many are on the coach I think. Hope thats of some use for ya! I didn't have any probs using them. I'm going again next weekend too, it's still cheaper than a weekend on the p!ss !!

Ryanair are maybe not my first choice, but for £60 return for a weekend in Alicante, I'm happy! I can't get to london for that price from here!

I don't know how they get away with calling Girona Barcelona. Girona is a town in it's own right and a good place to visit.... and I think is a good hour and a half on the train from Barcelona. It's like calling Liverpool or Blackpool airport Manchester. In fact they may as well call it Andorra as I think it is almost as near to there!

Ryanair are still excellent value as long as you don`t assume the real cost of the flight is 1 pence before you proceed on their site. Just used them for a 7 day holiday in Porto (£20.04 for 2 people with 2 cases return - booked last July before prices went up) The flight was 1/3 full and we had loads of room (well 3 seats for the 2 of us), the flight was ontime and no problems at all. I just booked another holiday in late February to Milan, Italy for just under £20 on the old thread (where taxes were free) which is for 2 of us and 1 suitcase.
If you choose the right dates and are flexible they are a brilliant airline to use.

My parking at Bristol Airport cost me more than the flights BTW.
If your airport has a BCP Airport Company operating at it get 15% off prices (10% in summer) by using the code BN221 on their online site.

Enjoy !

Yes the operating costs are the same- but it comes down to simple supply and demand. School holidays = way more demand = far higher prices.

Highway robbery that Ryanair can getaway charging £6 return for Non-EU passengers who can't check in online and dont' have an EU card and no bags to check in. Very discriminatory.

Still I'm pleased with the £20 return price incl taxes to Ireland for St Paddy's long weekend weekend from Gatwick.

Ryan Air is unbelievably cheap. The cheapest flights I have had have been £20 return, and most of the price was tax, without the tax it would have been £0.01 each way. Amazing.
