Ryanair have just launched their newest discounts so many fares are now £5 one way including taxes. This does exclude luggage, but if you are only going for a weekend, there is no charge for hand luggage.

Just bagged a great bargain to Venice, so hopefully someone else will also get a cheap, well earned break!

Even better, some flights to Dublin are only £1 all-in from Stansted!!!

Ryanair have too many mixed reviews, but I fly with them a lot and I've never had a problem. I understand that it's not so great when you have to pay for checking in luggage, but many charges can be avoided. Check in online, and pay with an Electron card (free from many banks) to avoid some. Never seen a filthy aircraft with Ryanair and the stewardesses are always lovely....Maybe I'm just very lucky?

Silly - as long as your expectations are set correctly this is great. As said previously, what do you expect?

You get what you pay for. If your prepared to pay what other airlines change thats your choice. Me I would sit on the floor next to the dusbin if I could get it for cheap enough.

And I'v never encounted any hidden costs there in plain site just unselect them if you dont want them.

Perhaps add that the flights are only in May and June to the title or first post? I'm already booked up with RyanAir flights for May and June and am waiting for offers in subsequent months.

Also worth mentioning that you can avoid card charges by using Entropay (instant online access)

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/384405/entropay-for-ryanair-flights/

or Post Office Travel Card (takes 24 hours to activate - buy from main PO)

http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/jump1?catId=19300207&mediaId=26800661

or apply for a bank's Electron card (various banks e.g. Coop).

burge74 you obviously havent been screwed by ryanair i booked flights went to print boarding cards as the printout was lost andas it wasjust under 4 hours before flight wouldnt let me on to website to print them off booked flights with easyjet instead and no hassle

If ryanair have so many sneaky ways of getting money from us why not start a detailed post with hidden costs /charges link them to any ryanair deals to stop anyone getting screwed then a lot happier people plus would mean anyone like myself booking flights whos new to flying with budget airlines

I've never experienced anything like that on any of my Ryanair flights, the staff have always been excellent and very helpful.

As for hidden charges, there are none. If your unable/unwilling to check the details of what your purchasing then it's your own fault if you don't budget for 'extras'.

How cruel for RyanAir to penalise you for you losing your tickets!?!?! It seems like you screwed yourself to me. Do cinemas let you in when you lose your tickets?

As a tip always print out at least one extra set of tickets and if you are travelling with someone else make sure they have a set as well. Same goes with your passport - always have a copy - even better have an electronic copy and store it in your Email account so you can get at it anywhere.

All this talk of hidden costs.....ok, top tip, when you go through to book your flights, read through the page as everything is there. I have booked many cheap flights with the airline, so I know they are definitely there. I've worked in travel for far too long and have to say Ryanair is one of my favourite airlines for finding these cheap seats. Naturally they never have the discounts for the bank holidays, but then again, who does?!

Don't be put off by the advertised Ryanair DATE PERIOD with their offers.

I found with the £5 offer last month that although advertised for May-Jun there were actually also flights in July at the lower price available on the website and the new 'week-at-a-time' view helps you track them down a lot quicker nowadays.

Not checked if this applies to this current offer but if you fancy flying always worth checking date periods you could be interested in to see what pops up. AND if you're flying to the Euro area you can sometimes save more by booking singles rather than return - eg I got a single (ie return) from Milan for just 1 Euro versus the £15 I had to pay for flight out, and was offered a return at

Well personally i didnt forget my tickets my friend who printed them left them behind we went to an internet cafe to reprint them but the ryanair site wouldnt let us print them as it was under 4 hours before their flight(logged on at 11am flight was at 13:55) now i may be mistaken but this would be the time most people would like to recheck their details if not print them too as a former employee of expedia i do have some experience in this area

And for the cinema if i lost my ticket 3.50 or whatever they dont charge me £40 for the benefit of reprinting my ticket your not really comparing apples with apples are you seems you just wanted to sound like a pomous twit

as for your comment on printing extras having a copy in email is a good idea but when your boarding card and itinerary are different and not being able to access your boarding card before your flight is a way of exploiting its customers.

My point was to help people booking with ryanair avoid these charges to stop being stuck somewhere and not being able to get home as it was in my case , Had someone on the thread that had the flights posted how ryanair can sting you for hidden charges then a lot of people who booked and had to pay extra may have avoided the circumstances in which ryanair required them to pay more .

Yes it was my fault i should have taken a keener eye on my booking/friend and boarding card but i think that on this forum where people are on to get the best deals how hard would it be to have a thread with ryanairs charges on these cheap flights , and how to either resolve them, avoid them and then link it to any ryanair deal that comes along , i know i would have read one if it was there

You may find the guide on here useful in case you use RyanAir again

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/222085/flying-with-ryan-the-guide-to-booki/

I am pretty sure you can print your boarding cards15 days in advance so would advise this to be done at least a day in advance of your flight in case of printer problems etc. You can get a screen dump of your boarding cards in jpg format and save them in case you lose your boarding cards. I hadn't done that in the past as I was confident that we would lose both sets of copies but may do in future.
#15
Now thats very helpful id suggest adding that to the thread(the search on:x here i dont need to mention) if only i'd seen that before i left.
#16
Ah, right. You didn't lose your tickets, your mate did. Clearly Ryanair's fault then. Now personally, I print mine & also save a copy. I also wipe my own bum, but there you go.:-D
#17
Theres really no need for this attitude is there? If someone has reservations about a deal then it's worth posting them too.

No he forgot(he had to print them i dont have a printer) them we were able to have our friend scan them and we had digital copies but the time that it took to arrange meant we wouldnt make it to check in

My original issue is that you cannot print boarding cards 4 hours before your flight

Glad to see your a big boy now, pity that if your out of nappies you havent stopped acting childishly with your comments not adding anything to the thread i said that searchers last post was useful and to include it in the deal part of the thread (i did suggest this before but didnt know there was a thread existing) and yes i do know how to search

i admit responsibility for my actions i shouldnt have taken for granted my friend could bring 2 sheets of paper along with his passport i should have printed a copy for myself( my logic was i could get it online before i departed that day , i stated previously i worked for expedia i've never encountered a problem like this before , so why you feel the need to take such a stance is beyond me i thought forums like this were about saving money and my comments are usually helpful on here

All i can say tho is what can you expect from someone who is proud to make a statement about wiping their own bum

Oh my, all I wanted to do was let people know, if they hadn't already seen, is that there are cheap flights available! This is getting a bit mean now really. I have had bad experiences with Monarch in the past and I know everyone has an airline they hate, but please, this is just a deal.....:?

HI!

This is my first post.
This "offer" seems to be fake.
I checked carefully the "booking and travel period" and I can't find anything close to 5 pounds for "Edinburgh Poznan", even though its advertised as 5 pounds.
(19th June-22th June from Edinburgh-Poznan, return the 22nd)

It was advertised as 10 pounds last week, and nothing again. Cheapest was from 14.90pounds something + airport fees.
The funny detail is if you need assistance you can call their UK number charged at 1pound/minutes. I tried to call, you get 2 minutes of automatic answerphone without being able to skip, and I learned that this number only works for 14days booking, and I needed to call another hyper charged number.

I agree some destinations seems to be ok, but nothing on Edinburgh, this is partially a SCAM!

FAKE Voted ICE COLD!

i have never had any problems with boarding cards allways print at least 2 cards sometimes more and in plenty of time before flight think you can print upto 5 days before. they tell you clearly about min time before flight so its your fault and not ryanairs

Hi, just wanted to get my two pennie worth in here!!!

I am a HUGE ryanair fan!!!

For example!

I have been getting the cheap flights since 2007

Santiago - Spain - Sept 2007 - 8p (return) for four of us!!!!!

Dublin for October 2008 - 4p return for 2 of us

Majorca - May 2008 - £48 return for 6 of us

Dublin - April 2009 - £8 (return)

Costa Brava - April 2008 - £24 - return

dont see how anyone can complain, yes there are hidden charges for luggage etc, but even with the hidden charges they are still the cheapest!

Hi guys, ive been holding out from booking my flights for August in the hope that one of their next sales is for travel in August.
Does anyone know if a) there will be a sale on August flights, and b) When will it be?
This would be very helpfull!
Thanks
#25
can you tell me what dates you got from where and did you find any accomodation thanks .

have flown with ryanair over 20times and never had a problem
#27
Could anyone mention on the original post that this is partially a scam?
For example "edinburgh-Poznan" is never £5 as indicated, during the booking and travelling period.

I'm not complaining about the deal, if its true for some it's ok. But some locations are not as advertised, this needs to be mentionned.

looks a good deal...but you cant travel on bank holiday weekend at end of may!! so cold!!

Ryanair = rip-off

Cold. If I knew I'd paying a fiver to fly with just hand luggage it would be different. I flew with Ryanair to Spain last month. Got to the airport and found that they would not give us our boarding passes unless we paid them 20 quid! Haggled them down to 10 and flew to Spain. On the way back...had to pay 20 Euro for the boarding pass again. Looked at the booking confirmation and there in the very small print, out of sight was the _option_ to pay £4.50 to print the boarding pass online. Why the hell would this be an _option_ when you can't board a plane without a pass? Why not include it in the price? They say it's to cut down costs of staff at the airport, yet there was a desk there manned 24/7 by people who just print boarding passes.

I've flown many budget airlines many times and Ryanair gives budget airlines a bad name. You're treated like cattle that matters not one iota just because you're paying, what, 50 quid less than British Airways. Avoid!

bad experience with luggage coming home from ibiza. Limit 18 kg, was 18.2kg expected 30 euros. had no hand luggage, which the allowed limit was allowed 10kg. was made to open up case and remove 2 jumpers or couldn't fly if didn't pay the euros! Also like to add that the person I was with had luggage totalling 17kg and we were near the front of the queue so it wasn't like everyone was consistently over and they were just limiting it to the last people to check in as I can understand if everybody on the flight is 0.2 kg over it mounts up. That was June 2007.

Used them a few times before that experience and you get treated like cattle, bad start and bad end to a holiday. Cheap but complete jokers. In general I think the service offered across the board by the majority of flight companies is poor. The attitude is 'well we hold all the aces because if it wasn't for us you wouldn't get to that destination'.
#34
LOL... Assuming your taking hand luggage only... ie Taxi - Passport Control - Bag Search - Gate. Then whats to stop you taking 15kg :?

1 piece of cabin baggage. It should weigh no more than 10kg

I use Ryanair for 1 or 2 return flights a week. Never had any of the problems you describe. I can't even remember the last time a flight was late by more than 15 mins.
I'll put the "hidden charges" down to you inability to read English.
#36
Thanks to OP.
#37
Ryanair is always around this price.
#38
You can't buy a ticket from Ryanair (or anyone else online) without ticking the box to say that you have read & accept their terms and conditions. No good coming on here afterwards to admit you didn't.
Bottom line: dirt cheap fares if you jump through the relevant hoops. If you can't or won't you don't have to.
I have got a flight to Prague for the total cost of £5 including everything, to go with the flight back I bought from their last offer for the princely sum of 4p (one czech crown). I regard that as a hot deal.
#39
I work in Dublin and I come home at the weekends to East Midlands, I fly Ryanair nearly every weekend. (Baring the p*ssup weekends)

The fleet of aircraft are no more than five years old, the crew are all professional and the flights are hardly ever late on arrival. I've never encounted a dirty aircraft, I have been on one with a smelly toilet, but that was down to the retards that used it and couldn't p*ss in the bowl. The crew couldn't do much about it, because they don't have the cleaning products and they only have a 25min turn around. Thats one smelly toilet out of a shed load of flights.
I have been on other airlines, namely easyjet, bmi, bmibaby, virgin, twa, monarch and was very shocked to see that the security talk on one or two of them was incomplete and the planes were old and tatty.

As for the checking in online, I am sure you can reprint your boarding pass within the four hours, infact, I am sure I have already done that. You cannot check in online with the four hours before the flight and if you forgot to check in online, you just go to the check in desk and check in there at the extra cost.

Hidden extras? There are no hidden extras, its all plain to see, if you want bags in the hold, you pay for it, if you want to check in at the airport, you pay for it, if you want a coffee, you pay for it.. Simple!

The only thing I disagree with, is the stupid charge Ryanair charges for Debit cards, they do not get charged that, infact, I reckon they make a profit on that. I have an electron card for booking flights, so it doesn't really concern me. :)
#40
If you search the website frequently you will know that for any flight under a £5 you can expect to pay at least around £30+ for the TOTAL price.

There are the 0.00p flights but they are usually about £10 TOTAL.

They are still cheaper than most other budget airlines.

BUT IT SOMES UP WHY THE TIGHT ARSED CHIEF EXEC OF THE COMPANY HAS AN 8 SEATER TO GET TO WORK...........

WHY???

SO HE DOES NOT PAY THE CONGESTION FEE!!
