There are other routes available for £10 return...

Ok, so it's not unusual for Ryanair to have cheap flights available, but what drew me to this one was that it is:

Available from a major airport
Available on Saturdays (makes finding matching accom easier)
Has good flight times (15:10 out - 13:30 coming back)

You have to jump through the usual hoops of paying with Electron and only carrying hand luggage, but having recently used Ryanair, it's worth it to get such a cheap flight.

I wish the stewardess's were that fit...

Personally after coming back from Girona to Stansted last week on Ryanair I wouldn't recommend them to anyone...i certainly won't be using them again! A right shower of *****!
#3
£10 would be great, but then they charge you £80 if you check in at the airport, £260 for a 23 kilo bag, etc etc
#4
Oh, and don't be suprised if they change the flight times too as what happened to others in our group from 1.30pm to 7.00am!
#5
Me and my mates just used them to go to+from Ibiza via Stansted. Not to bad really!
Check in online and make sure you fully use your 10kg hand luggage+15kg checked bag allowance. They didn't really care about the weight of the bag on the way there, but on the way back they forced me to move 1kg of luggage from my bag into someone elses that was below the allowance, bit crappy considering all the weight is still going on the same plane!!
Don't expect to much from a BUDGET airline guys...

I've used Ryanair loads of times and have never had a problem. Girona is a fair way north of Barclona, but is great if you want to stay in the costa brava - Tossa de mar or lloret de mar. Great for a cheap holiday

HAS A FIT AIR HOSTESS !!! wooo
#8
Sorry cold. Wouldn't fly with Ryanair if it were free. Really really bad service. Air hostess accidentally spilt coffee on the passenger next to me - she then disappeared for the remainder of the 2 hour flight - obviously badly trained and embarassed. Problem after problem on Ryanair. PAY EXTRA AND TRAVEL IN COMFORT!
#9
Only travelled once with Ryanair - and it was fine both ways, no delays. (had a sketchy landing though!)

Seems a bit of a mixed bag reading what everyone else has put, of course negative reviews are always heard over the positive ones ...

I flew to/from Barcelona once. They paid me and then gave me free beer all flight. I did not have to pay for baggage and I just sailed through customs. I got free airport lounge upgrade and the pilot let me fly the plane. I met my wife-to-be on the plane as well as the rolling stones who did a impromptu gig (unfortunately it was Sir Cilff on the way back) when I got home all my housework had been done and someone had paid the mortgage.

All that for Just £10 return...........not bad eh ????????????? but what I found disappointing was that no one had cleaned my car

What a load of moaners, I have often flown for as much as 1p no taxes and now think £5 is a lot (I know i'm mean but thats what this site is about) I have NEVER had a problem and use Ryanair every other month at least, some of you should try B.A. I flew with them last summer and wished I was on Ryanair........delayed and no messages or apology, didn't make any time up, didn't have any hot water for drinks and flight attendants ignored the passengers in case they had to do some work !
Of course I don't take hold luggage and have a Electron card.
#23
heat for the hot pic.
#24
entropay gets around the electron thing anyway
#25
Hot as its v.hard to get cheap saturday and summer hol flights, justs stick to 10KG hand luggage, visa electron and save save save... do check destination airport is where they say ! As for the picture - not bad - this was the Ryanair charity calendar... hot hot hot !

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-494403/Ryanair-cabin-crew-girls-strip-charity-calendar.html

I wish the moaners would quit, as this site is for deals, and this is precisely what this is. If you do have some opinion to raise - it should be along the lines of 'Is this deal of value or not?' Personally, I think £5 to Spain is damn good!

Its not that your opinions are not valuable, just that they are on the wrong forum - this site is for 'deals', not poor holiday experiences or why you must pay by Electron!

OK, now I have booked myself and the family for end July - all I need to do now is find some accomodation and things to do while there. Time to Google!

Refresh my memory, out of BA & Ryanair which has been in the news recently as in danger of going bust?:p

I don't think Ryanair need lessons in how to run an airline from BA.

You can avoid these charges by not being an idiot.

Ryanair is absolutely fine for short-haul flights, as long as the airports you choose aren't in the absolute middle of nowhere. Anyone complaining about flights being rearranged or delayed has just been unlucky, as you can be with any other airline. Every time I've flown with RyanAir they've been quick, efficient and on-time.

I don't think it's too scummy either. Thomas Cook is worse. Most scum bags aren't too web-savvy.
#29
As people say it's all about price. Use your brain and you can avoid most of the add-on charges. Whatever people say, the flights aren't so bad. It's only a couple of hours and you're there.

For a perspective on value, I used to fly to Spain quite a bit in the 80's, by whatever airline was cheapest - and flights would average £180 - £200 per person - best part of a weeks wages at the time.

Hot deal. The Costa Brava has some wonderful areas to visit. The Dali museum is only 30 minutes from the airport. South of France 45 minutes. Barcelona 30 minutes. Vineyards, restaurants, mountain walks.........
#30
Ryanair may have a bad rep. But at least they are transparent with the pricing.
If you play the game and get a cheap fare like this then you really cannot grumble.

As for delays/cancellations/bad service/bad attitude
Well this happens on most major airlines too. I've had bad BA experiences.

I once paid £600 for a short haul economy flight on BA. Both legs delayed, bad service/attitude, no apologies. BA customer services send standard letters/read scripts on phone.
Would have got the treatment same from Ryanair but paid a tenner.

At least the expectation with Ryanair is lowered from the start so you dont feel bad.

cant get the code to work CARWASH10 ?

cant get the code to work CARWASH10 ?
:w00t: Are you serious,
Anyway flown with Ryanair 20 odd times never had any delays, flights changed etc etc whats the problem with all the moaners about Ryanair you want more pay more.
#33
You really do have to laugh...

There's a clue in the name "Low Fares Airline"... You pay next to nothing. You get next to nothing. If you want to get from point A to point B with a bag in your hand it cannot be beaten.

I couldn't get a taxi from where I work home for what I am paying for my flights this weekend, yet they will be taking me from STA to Mercia and then back.
#34
flown with them loads on the 1p flights-never ever had a problem.4p for two returnflights to europe-and no queuing to checkyour case in-heaven!!

ps saw a similar barcelona flight out of east midlands, back through birmingham a few days ago too.
#35
I love it when people moan about these deals, as long as get from A to B as cheaply as possible I wouldn't care if they charged for the toilets! Though I thought it was a bit cheeky of Ryanair when I went to knock the other week for £12.50, the airport charges everyone 10 euros on the way back :x

School holiday periods ( and any major sporting event dates) are omitted from all Ryanair special offers .
They are still usually much cheaper than any other airline though unless you are booking at the very last minute.

although this has expired, there are still a few to be found
