Ryanair have launched their 1 million seats for £1 sale today.

There are also many £5 fares aswell.

Remember, use Electron or entropay (online card payment service, like paypal) to avoid the card charges and actually get your flights for £1!

This has just been launched and runs 'til Thursday midnight. Loads of different routes to the £1 offer a couple of weeks ago!

Hopefully, they'll open more check-in desks in future!

You've lost me there. I thought it was all online check-in now (at least for October flights on).

There are less destinations on this offer than the one a couple of weeks ago from Liverpool sadly.

No check in desks - GOOD. Saves the hassle. I've been to Belfast, Oslo, Gothenburg, Pescara, Lamezia and Rome so far this year. Paid £1 each way for all flights except Lamezia. Brilliant service, only have to get to the airport 30 mins or so before boarding with online check in - I have no problems with these at all!!...

...OK, except maybe the bumpy landings :)
#4
Can you pay by paypal?

Not as far as I know, but I'm told entropay is similar. Have never tried it though.

How far is the Ryanair Rome airport to the acctual city? I have heard they use far out military airports then you pay a small fortune on tranfers to get the the main attraction. Not to mention time on the weary traveller.

Rome Ciampino was about 25 min drive from the City centre, and I think it was about 4.30 pm when we landed so that was in rush hour aswell. They do use some less well known airports yes, but if it's not actually one of the City's main airports, they'll put the actual place name in brackets - such as Dusseldorf (Weeze) - I went there last year and it was nearly an hour to Dusseldorf - Weeze is almost in Holland!

Back to Rome though - the other airport, Fiumicino is also about 30 mins from the city centre, so there's little in it.

Five of us shared a 35euro taxi so for 7euro each, its not much to pay. I believe you can also get a transfer booked through Ryanair on a Terravision coach for about £4. There's also a rail station local to the airport and rail travel in Italy is fairly cheap and convenient.

This is actually one of the closer airports that they use, just short of 11 miles from Rome. If you ever use them for Frankfurt then it is 77 miles from Frankfurt.
#10
I suppose to be fair, Stansted is about 30 miles from London, as is Gatwick. London City is the only airport actually 'in the city'. Maybe we expect too much when we go abroad
#11
Why is this cooling? The last Ryanair deal got to about 900 degrees!!!

If you're voting cold, let me know why... and I'll show you where else you can get a return flight to Europe for £2.
#12
thanks have booked a weekend break for me and my mate for £4 return!!
#13
Thanks for that. Prepared to travel from Liverpool, Manchester has fewer options. Flew Bremen Germany lovely gothic town, Xmas festivities and great shopping Xmas time for a £1 and it was 5-10 mins in taxi or tram, had to do my geography lesson first though, a necessatity with 2 kids in tow.

So, Fuimincino. Sounds great more my distance.

Yes - book the £1 or £5 flights. You can't get around them on any other flights.

Are you speaking from experience? I've been with RyanAir about 8-10 times in the last year or two and I didn't notice any poor service.

I don't know how you define poor value but £1 per flight seems to me possibly the best value you could possibly get. But I assume even if it was free you would think it was poor value because it is so awful.

Still - all the more flights for the rest of us. Belfast for me this weekend £1 each way (from a previous deal).

The title price should be changed to include all fees involved just as with postage and packaging on ordinary items. Cheers for the heads up mayster I realised there would be some extra charges incurred but by the looks of it the price doesn't end up being much cheaper than easyjets cheapest flights.

Hold on! Get your facts straight before asking me to change the post... There are plenty of flights on the site for £1. Thats £1, no taxes, no fees, no charges. You've picked up on a couple of 49p flights, of which there are milllions on the website, that also have charges lumped on top. The £1 flights which the deal referes to have no charges lumped on top!
#22
Although I agree this can be a good deal compared to other 'budget airline' deals that are going around, if you can fiddle the hidden charges etc. I would still advise caution though as you may end up paying more that expected

I've seen bitterwallet reviews many times, cheers. I'd rather judge by experience or I find myself feeling like a sheep following the crowd. I've used Ryanair to travel to about 20 European destinations in the last two years. In the same time period I've also flown with Easyjet, Emirates and BA. For £1 a flight, or sometimes I've needed to pay upto £20 a flight, the value of the product is excellent, and comparable to the service you get on some BA flights!

Think ryanair is a bit like marmite, you either love them or hate them. Put it this way, the product is from A to B, as long as you get there alright it's job done in my opinion and for less than a £5 it's great. I've paid more for taxis home on a saturday night! :-D

I would understand if they have cancelled flights on you etc as that would peev me off no end, did think it was a bit cheeky Knock airport charges you 10 euros or you can't fly home, ryanair neglected to mention!

Not oting, I find thehidden extras totally misleading and you can rarely get filghts at times I want. But if it works for some then good luck.

Worth the price and hassle?

-inb4 people start crying that their £1 flight it actually going to cost them £15 (which is still ridiculously cheap)
-inb4 people start complaining about the service. But what do you expect for a £15 flight? If you're fussy like me fly first class but it will cost more. You get what you pay for.
#30
I wouldn't fly with them if they paid me.

I am wondering what people expect. What service are people expecting? You book your flight, you print your boarding pass, you turn up at the airport, go to the gate indicated and board when the gate opens. You choose a seat, sit down, wait for the flight take off then land and get off when the doors open. It's not dissimilar to catching a train. One difference being you get a seat - which you don't always on a train.

If people want to be scared off RyanAir by people moaning on here (I don't think anyone has described an actual problem they have had with RyanAir on here - just unsubstantiated 'I wouldn't fly RyanAir if you paid me' type stuff) then fine. I must admit I was a bit worried about them before I flew with them (I was a frequent EasyJet and BA flier prior) and I find RyanAir great and am happily discovering different parts of Europe I have never been to. If they do cancel a flight on me then maybe I will moan like some others but I would hope my insurance would cover me for such an event.

I don't get how they can say their flights don't include optional charges, and then force you to pay £10 for online check-in. scammity scam scam.
