Thinking of booking some time away, then try and hold off for the Ryanair 1p seat sale starting on Tuesday.

A little bit of notice for all you jet setters out there!

Took up this offer last year and headed to Hahn (germany) and to london for a few days..... cheaper than a bus into town......Fabulous!!!

JUst to Add... If you are flying from Prestwick Airport - If getting there by train you can get half price railfare. All passengers producing an air ticket or printed e-ticket are entitled to a 50% discount on any rail journey to or from Prestwick Airport. You may also be asked to show photo ID. Tickets from the airport must be bought on board the train.

It is about time the British Public got together and done something about these ridiculous taxes we have to pay for Airline tickets!!!!!!

We went for the day last time (xmas shopping) online check in, no bags and no taxes so it REALLY was 1p!
#13
From past experience does anyone know if these just from major airports or if there a chance they'll be any from say Leeds Bradford?
#14
Hi the reason the ryanair website is down is that their updating it bcause the lead in fare now has to include all compulsary taxes. So these should be genuine 1p each way flights. Remember you'll have to pay an extra £18 if you want to checkin a suitcase.
#15
any idea of the qualifying dates?
#16
had a few 1p flites with ryanair also used priorty boarding a couple of quid worth it to see peoples faces as you jump Q
#17
:thumbsup:Voted Hot. Thanks Roj & Jonnny if you are right about genuine 1p flights this is what we have been waiting for
#18
:thumbsup:You should be able to get priority online boarding for nothing now Paul - so save you couple of quid next time.
[HUKD Blog Network]#19
Agree, if memory serves me right, it was the people that werent checking in online that had to pay extra (£4 each way???) i.e. people without a a passport etc.. As long as you are eligible to check in online and print your boarding passes then that was free...

i fly over to belfast every couple of weeks using ryanair, never had any problems, when i was at the airport i couldnt help noticing some of the other air lines had cancelled flights as there wasnt enough people but ryanair was full, serves them right for money grabbing

heat and rep added
#21
Cant wait till Tues.
This will possibly break the record for 'Heat' for something NOT available, YET!!! Ha Ha.
#22
does any one know when the flight periods will be, im wanting to go riga, in sept! but don't know if i should pay extortionate prices now or wait till nearer the time?!

thanks and voted hot!
#23
Can I fly alone with them at 17?
#24
Check where the Airport is - very often you have to spend a fortune getting from the 40 odd miles outside the city airport to actually get to the city you want - their city travel guides online will give you an idea of where it is and costs the city centre

Kettle and pot - calling another airline money-grabbing compared to Ryanair....

PS my local shop has lots of things for 1p - you just get charged extra for the stores rent, insurance, fuel for heating and lighting, rates, security and of course VAT (oh yes and £3 per item for paying by credit card) but they have never tried to itemise the bill in this way so why have the creeps at Ryanair dragged their feet for so long about quoting all inclusive prices for air tickets?

What are the chances of me getting a flight from Manchester to London?

The reason i ask is because right now i have a flight booked from Manchester to Italy for £203.00 with Opodo.

My problem is the stops im taking:

1. Manchester to Paris
2. Paris to Rome
3. Rome to Catania

Now i can get a direct flight to my destination for £175.00 - Gatwick to Catania

^ providing i can get to Gatwick from Manchester on the cheap.

I know Opodo will charge a £25.00 cancellation fee (i think) so if i do the math:

£175.00 (return gatwick to catania) + £25.00 (cancellation fee) + £0.02 (possible Manchester to Gatwick return) = £200.02

Which is cheaper, but more importantly less hassle, less stops and better flying out/in times.

So do you guys think i should cancel my Opodo booking right now and hope that i get a Manchester to Gatwick come Tuesday?

Or

Should i hold out and cancel the Opodo booking only when im sure i got the Manchester to Gatwick booking?

Im thinking i should cancel first because i may miss out on the £175.00 fare come Tuesday?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Sorry i may have confused you with my last comment

1. Im going to Manchester to Catania at the moment for £203.00 with 2 stops.

But there is another less stressful ticket available -

2. Direct flight from London (Gatwick) to Catania for £175.00

The initial problem was that i couldnt get from Manchester to Gatwick on the cheap hence i took option 1.

NOW that this 1p RyanAir offer has come about, it opens up option 2 as i can fly from Manchester to Gatwick on the cheap with RyanAir.

So my question is:

Should i cancel the flight i currently have with Opodo and hope that i can get a return flight on Tuesday with RyanAir (Manchester to Gatwick)

or

Should i just keep the original booking with Opodo and wait until Tuesday? - The problem with this is that there is no guarantee that the direct flight from Gatwick to Catania will be available on Tuesday, which is currently available for £175.00

I hope that makes sense.

Man, that is cheap

Are you mad? Why take such a huge risk to save a couple of quid and a more direct route.

Well ive just learned that:

1. RA fly to/from London Gatwick
2, RA fly to/from Manchester.

BUT

They do not fly the route Manchester to London Gatwick!!!

gay gay gay gay i say say say say

And as to why for a couple of quid:

Its a less stressful journey with less stops and better flying times and £3 cheaper!
#35
No booking on site until 25/2/2008
#36
If you were 100% sure you could get that flight for that price then yes, it would probably be wiser to book the direct one. Not so much for the £3 saved, but simply to avoid the risk of having one of the three planes delayed and/or cancelled and missing connecting flights. Depending on the airline, you could have travel claiming back your tickets, especially if you bought them from a third party...

My 2 cents:whistling:
#37
I love Ryanair, they put a sale on then shutdown their booking system for the 22 to 25 feb

they even state "dont book with other airlines this weekend

yea, dont forget that they charge you for your baggage and for checking in at the desk now, you might as well have got a full paid seat for the baby.
#40
i know- i wanted to get her a seat- but you can't book one for under 2yrs, and if you are travelling with an infant you can'y book in online either.so i booked my 3 yr old for online booking with my hubbie, then the baby with me for airport checkin. think that saved me a bit.
