  Whilst I have to admit that Medinah hosted one of the best Ryder Cups with a comeback only matched by the USA in 1999 to describe it as the greatest sporting event of 2012 is getting just a bit carried away. A Year in which London hosted a near flawless Olympic Games and a ground breaking Paralympics attended by more than two and a half million people takes some beating. And as much as I love golf, it will never be the biggest sport in the world, even if this probably was the greatest Ryder Cup in living memory.
  
  Hearing the mainly British fans chanting "your not singing any more" followed by " always look on the bright side of life" was ample revenge for all the idiotic Yanks shouting "GET IN THE HOLE" everytime an American hit a ball.
