When the batteries on my cheap B&Q cordless drill began to fail I started to keep a lookout for a decent branded replacement. I couldn't justify the extortionate prices of some of the 'professional' brands when it's only for home/DIY use but I wanted something durable and with spares available (notably batteries). Li-ion batteries would be nice but tend to cost way more than I was prepared to pay for the whole thing.
Then this kit turned up as a clearance item in a Screwfix flyer and I managed to bag one in my local Screwfix store. Last one in the store but they assured me there are plenty more in the warehouse for mail order or next day delivery to store.
Ryobi are positioned as professional kit, but at this price are definately in the DIY market.
Comprises a decent 2 speed reversible 18v drill with hammer function and built in spirit levels; variable speed 18v jigsaw with laser guide; 18v corner sander with velcro type base; strong zip up workbag; 30 piece Ryobi jigsaw blade kit; range of sander pads; drill handle, depth gauge and screwdriver bits; 2x interchangeable 18v Ni-Cad batteries and 1 hour charger. The drill alone sells for £119.99!
A further benefit of this kit is that the batteries are interchangeable with other tools in the Ryobi range (eg circular saw; angle grinder) and if I want to upgrade to Li-ion batteries later they are compatible too.
I'm delighted with my find and the reviews on line are excellent too (including some from professional users). Hope this'll do someone else a favour.
