This went very hot last time around before being expired... It's now back in stock. An absolute bargain for a quid 3 editions of What Hi Fi and a quality HDMI lead. You really can't go wrong.
Just cancel your direct debit after they have taken the pound to avoid extra charges. I did it last time and have had no problems whatsoever!

Jump to unread Post a CommentJust to be pedantic, regardless of what they retail at, no HDMI cable is 'worth' £20!! :p
3 issues of a magazine with questionable reviews and an HDMI cable is still a fantastic deal though!!! :)
And don't forget 10% quidco!!

I agree no cable is worth that but it's a good quality cable I had it from last time and better than the ones in pound land etc. As for What Hi Fi I enjoy reading it although I agree some of the reviews you have to take with a pinch of salt. As you say though a great deal for a quid :)

Wonder if they will enforce this?
Their Ts & Cs state "Also please note, as directed by the publishers, all direct debit purchases have a minimum term of 12 months."
However I've cancelled straight after the first payment has been made in the past without any problems, the previous posting of this deal has others that have done the same. Previous post.
Sweet have some heat
Hot deal tho
Does the value make the signal go down the cable faster, or my favourite - with less interference to the digital signal....?
I need to stop now or I'll wet myself laughing at the gullibility of some people.
Bet seriously, if you can see past the £20 pile of BS you have a great magazine for a quid.

Agreed, which is why I am confused when I look at the various reviews of What HiFi's hdmi cables. For example the £4 cheapo one says it has tinny sound, and cant handle motion. - surely this is complete **** on what is a digital cable? As a well published and recognised magazine, how do they get away with this crap?

They've been in the pocket of the people who pay for their adverts for *decades*. If you like the content then read it by all means but go into it understanding that it's in no way objective

I've got this cable and it's soooo much better than the budget tinny sounding one which handles motion poorly. If you can't tell the difference, you obviously haven't got the cable plugged into your ear correctly.

Can I ask you are you an electronics engineer? You would be suprised how much interference/cross interference/degradation of signal can happen when there is high frequency digital signal sent over anything. As you are aware HDMI is pretty much high frequency signal and as such can interfere with pretty much anything. And quality does matter. Have you ever considered why there is gold plating on the connectors?? It is not for a nice shine but for its durability and good electric properties. Also connector need to latch properly. If poor quality connector will be used it will wear with constant connecting and disconnecting.
There are other things like cable flexibility that goes in handy when you do not have much space behind your TV for example.
So don't laugh at things that you might not fully understand.
The digital cable might be the cause of interference to analog cable that is having your audio signal running down to speakers for example.
Just bear in mind I do not recommend spending huge money for cable as in electronic word (and I guess with everything else) there is a term: "fit for purpose" so dont spend money on something you don't need and you will always be happy :D
