i feel really sorry so many people in retail and finance are gonna struggle...
Great, too expensive in the first place - maybe that was the flaw in their business plan.

You wouldnt be saying that if you worked there
thought the management bought them out ?
thought the management bought them out ?

I think they did,but this must be the cost cutting exersise, to close some stores :?
You wouldnt be saying that if you worked there
yeah i would actually cos my mate works there and they get treat like sh** :p
They have been in big trouble recently - phones cut off by BT, not paying site rent. I think they will be selling a lot of stores, in England too. There could be some good deals - but I would be wary of buying anything that can't be taken away with you. Of if you do, make sure you pay by credit card. If you pay for a 'bargain' kitchen and they go into administration you could lose your money.
Naff service.. took months and months for the wardrobe to turn up... utterly terrible customer service.
MFI were just lousy when they sold cheap furniture cheap. You sort of got what you expected, and as tacky as it was, it suited many people who could afford little else.

Then they decided to sell slightly less cheap furniture, but NOT particularly cheaply, guess what, it never worked, and they have gone from one crisis to another ever since.

What was all this "minimum spend" rubbish too? Whoever heard of such a thing!

why do you work there?;-)
MFI in Merry Hill, West Midlands also closing down. They are letting the display stuff go for 80% off. There are also signs on some of the units saying 'make me an offer' as the sales guy said that people are pinching the fittings, like the shower heads, taps.. so they're having to let stuff go even cheaper, as theyre incomplete units.
