Good deal, people don't use these enough for even the simplest of dusty jobs that leave their lungs screwed up for days or weeks at a time!

NO, definitely not, try going up in a fibreglass strewn loft for a few hours, or operate a tractor in a field at harvest time & see how full your lungs get, even basic protection works.

After stupidly infecting my lungs & having several months severely reduced capacity use a proper respirator now ...simple
#11
Excellent. This will be ideal for the inpending swine flu pandemic!
#12
whats worrying, people have been looking for them lol
nice to know where they are if needed :-)

so when you said 'simplest of dusty jobs' you didnt actually mean it. You meant high-risk jobs/environments.

just remember that these simple masks have pores that are several times larger that the flu virus, so it's not a barrier for it. These masks only help to protect spreading the virus if you are infected as they stop the droplets when you sneeze or cough. They will not protect a healthy person from getting infected. For this you need the disposable FFP3 mask (one for each use) or a reusable respirator with a P3 filter (needs to be changed after every use), but these are VERY expensive.

Thinking of ordering these as wholesale and taking a trip to Mexico. ;-)

Thanks - voted HOT

If people need proper info on proper masks offering various levels of protection, have a look at the 3M website .. P3 filters are very expensive indeed.
#19
OK, funny, but...

To protect at all against the flu, you need a mask to FFP3 standard.
Owt less is just cosmetic

No, it was a simple job in a certified normal environment deemed ok at the time, an unexpected twist due to the job not being cased correctly. (unknown quantity)

screwed up my training for a high altitude sports holiday! ..very costly. :x
#21
Lol, would be soooooo much funnier if I wasn't off to Cancun in 7 weeks
#22
Voted cold purely because this is not a good price.

Place where I used to work still sells them for about £5 for a box of 50 - in different designs & colours too!!

And they're medical grade ones so they actually offer correct levels of protection.
#23
HOT For Me.

I wonder if they'll start doing designed ones? You can imagine women wearing Gucci or D&G. Maybe a Swarovski Crystal clad one for Paris Hilton!!
#24
i get mine for free. so not a very good deal.

Heat added. Love the tag 'scaremongering' :-)

Who's laughing at the deaths? Just some perspective on the 'we're all doomed' mentality which seems to have swept the nation.
#29
Your wasting your money. The flu spores are so small they easily pass through face masks. Anyone wearing these is totally wasting their time!
#30
I've got my anti H5N1protection face masks on order, wouldnt buy this cheap ineffective ones, and as for the tags in this post this is no scaremongering mate nor is it funny, just ask WHO.
#31
do you they do them in Blue?
#32
This may even help my hay fever which should start sometime soon ... have some heat!

BBC News
If caring for someone with a flu-like illness, a mask can be worn to cover the nose and mouth to reduce the risk of transmission. The UK is looking at increasing its stockpile of masks for healthcare workers for this reason.

But experts say there is no scientific evidence to support more general wearing of masks to guard against infections.

Hence, scaremongering tag is about right.

Is this a site of 'humour' or posting 'HOT' deals?

I wouldn't bother with these either. I work in the healthcare industy and we monitor the environment we work in for microorganisms. We have not found any increase in levels when we don't wear masks to when we do. Also have you ever sneezed in a facemask, alot of the sneeze shoots out the sides, so the person in front of you would be OK but the poor people on either side get it!
#38
Very poor deal - op hasn't included postage!!! Delivery in 2-3 weeks by which time you'll be dead according to the doom and gloom merchants.

Besides the Govt have said there is no evidence that these stop the transmission of flu and have no plans of issuing these even if there is a pandemic.
#39
That's pretty poor. I've got 4 British S10 respirators including an israeli made m-15 for younger sibling including full NBC suits as well as FFP3 and FFP4 mouth and nose masks.
Be prepared....

Typing away in epoxy composite concrete reinforced bunker .
