Been looking at these but went for the Tesco Fetch TV... Much better features and works great, same price...

OMG... I just saw the pictures of the EPG on amazon. Looks like something from 3 years ago.... Get 8320HD Fetch TV, you won't regret it, there's a guy on ebay selling them new for £130

That got my attention, but a quick search soon threw up some pretty negative feedback on this box:

http://www.pvrjunction.co.uk/fetchtv-smartbox-8320hd-hybrid-freeviewhd-pvr/

I'm not sure what the real truth is, but it's obviously not a clear-cut winner.

It got my attention too. It does seem that the Fetch is promising though. Early PVRs were full of bugs and it took years to get the software right - and even now there are still issues on the Humaxes. Early adopters usually suffer but at that price it is not unreasonable as a Freeview HD box without the PVR.

£130??? Have you got an auction number for that?

£199.99 on the bay but it is The "Technika" SmartBox 8320HD, and "Technika" says it all for me

Surely the smartbox will pick up ordinary freeview channels & be future proof for the 2012 change over.

Search 8320HD in ebay and then click completed listings.... He's sold LOADS.... Email him, he probably works for Fetch with having that many new ones....

Also the latest firmware has solved all the known bugs... Mine runs smooth as a baby....

Also to the comment about it being teknika.. I know what you mean, but read up on it, you'll soon see why it's so popular

It is yes... Most areas already get HD though... We get BBC HD, ITV HD and C4 HD

All that should tell you is that it's Tesco branded. Not a brand-wh0re are we?

It's also not even commission by by Tesco. It's made by Fetch who have made some great boxes over the years....

I have one (8320HD) that is and at first it was glitchy but the past couple of firmwares have solved all problems, they're fast at releasing firmwares too....

It doesn't say teknika on the unit so it's fine....

If I could justify £300 I would get the digitalstream to try out but then the 8320HD does so much more for half the price

Was it a 'best offer' that was accepted?
