Tesco are selling the ITD68 Freeview Digibox from Sagem for £7. It's not the best digibox in the world, but for £7.00 it seems like a decent way of getting Freeview on your telly. These are definitely in stock at Bolton, and should be the same price at other stores too.

Look for them in boxes with ESPN on them since these are Top Up TV capable - though I don't think anyone's even interested in the on-its-way out Top Up TV. You're best off just using these for standard Freeview.

had this box, not very good as a one for regular use as crashes quite often and needs to restart,
good for the kids bedroom or spare room where it's not always in use

Good price have some heat ;)

You will regret buying this box. Was given one for free, regularly crashed, I wouldn't have a free one and I wouldn't expect you could give them away for free. A hateful piece of trash, plenty of other user reviews about if you check on google from people who have had trouble with this unit.

Good price for a basic freeview unit.. though I'd recommend everyone to buy a Freeview HD box as (at least in my area) the implementation of HD channels is right around the corner - some will already have this too. (of course you'll need a hdtv though !)

Really **** box.

This is the worst piece of technology i have owned in my 32 years on earth. Constantly crashes, very very common fault on these (may be all of them). I wouldn't take it if i was paid to. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP!
#7
Good price, but as others have noted it, it is prone to crashing and even switching channels could tax it if done in quick succession.
#8
Agree with the above, very crashy
#9
ditto had 2 of these boxes both died at 13 months, constant re-starts also required and re-tune when other F/V boxes in home were a-ok. AVOID IMO

I had one for quite a while with no problems.

A tv engineer told me that these are one of the best boxes if you have a weak signal. I paid 70 quid for a PHILIPS which was rubbish and very blocky. Swapped to this one and had a perfect picture.

Avoid....crashes...plus the box is five years old...sagem no longer support then...i.e no updates...so will not be fixed
#12
Stay away from this freeview box it's CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
#13
Bad box was always crashing for me.
#14
Don't bother, mine only used to pick up about half the available channels. Got a better box and binned this one.

Same here, we have an identical Sagem box with a card slot and it is forever crashing. Also it is very temperamental with which channels it will even display properly, particularly ITV channels and FIVE channels etc..

In comparison a PS3 with PlayTV worked perfectly when temporarily used in its place.

Whilst you may think this £7 pricetag for a freeview box represents good value, just do yourself a favour... keep the £7 in your pocket, or maybe get a second hand box (as even the budget echostar box we had prior to the Sagem was superior- albeit without a card slot.)

HAHA! are you serious dude? I bought this for £10 like.. what, let me see... THREE years ago!! .. jesus man, could have even been four not that I think about it so dude

I agree. Me personally, wouldn't want it for free, it's a joke ... unfortunately.

Agree, my Sagem TV with freeview is really bad. I documented 12 faults when trying to get my money back. Went for repair, came back with another fault. Then the retailer went bust. Still get abuse from the wife and kids that I bought such a s**t TV.

I had one of these when I moved to Cardiff as a student in 2004. I think even then I only paid around £15 for it on clearance at Asda.

Dreadful box, what technology do you expect for £7. The best value part is the £1.17 VAT :D if you must waste your time & money in Tesco (shame on them for selling junk without a guilty conscience & killing the UK's High Streets), keep the receipt.
