Although as we know this tastes of nothing, but smother with enough beans or ketchup, and if your budget is extremely tight, its not too bad

I know when I was having real money problems, this is the sort of thing i had to do to get by

98p for six in Asda, as a comparison for price, they are battered and not breaded

There was an interesting, and slightly humorous program on the telly last night which gave a rough idea what they put in these things. Not good.

Looks like we'll all be eating jelly Fish & Chips by 2050.

Yes, I know what you mean, but I dont have much more confidence in a more expensive product for that either, im sure they both have things in them you dont want to think about, as has always been the case with sausages. The main difference here is this is some kind of white fish, like pollack, which is just bland tasting, hence needing lots of beans or ketchup

you only get 4 in asda for 98p so this is good value

I just cleared my overdraft and one credit card in 4 months by buying the value/smartprice stuff - well worth the sacrifice. Havn't tried the fish yet but will soon:)

we always underestimate ourselves in the kitchen, its more worth it and beneficial to buy filleted white fish portions around £1.49 per 500g or what ever fish is on offer, and 19p for the batter or its free to use breadcrumbs...take a look under ur toaster ughh only kidding, add abit of paprika, pepper and salt to the batter or breadcrumbs DONE and it would make the best ever tasting fish. by all means this is a good deal, but about a year ago i tried the Asda version of these and they were quite awful. we shouldn't subject ourselves to horrible tasting food stuffs and disguising them under ketchup and beans although thats my fav combo also. 50p is damn cheap tho...so i have to vote hot for the price! wouldn't buy them personally but others my and its a very good deal for them

Britain must be the only country in the world where we consider food quality as a good place to cut back on costs. (or should I say developed country)

gross. voted cold because i wouldnt eat them for 50p let alone spend 50p. spend a little more and and cook yourself something your actually going to enjoy! even if your on a budget theres no need to subject yourself to eating bad food
