Going by recent HUKD history, people will probably vote cold because it doesn't lay eggs.

It didn't make it past the first post without the anti Free Range brigade popped up. Nothing wrong with stating your opinion.

Is a couple of quid really that much more to spend not only to improve a life but also for the benefit of your health ?

Garlic chicken??? Garlic.....and chicken??? Garlick chicken??? It's the future!

Urgh, a chicken with a permanent erection. That's almost enough to put me off.

Contradiction in terms?

Chicken and "it" having an erection?

;-)

Organic/freerange food has been proven not to add any nutritional benefit over the mass produced/farmed alternative. You can argue flavour, chicken welfare etc etc but at the end of the day it's just a big lump of protein. And a freerange chicken is going to end up on someones dinner plate either way so who cares if it got to run around for a bit beforehand. I'd rather save my money, I don't care too much about chicken welfare.

I don't care if the chicken had a happy life, got married, had kids and a mortgage or not.

This is a bargain!

Thanks so much for your valuable contribution. It has already improved my life and health enormously. People with your great wisdom should stand for parliament and then help us further by legislating on our diet. We'd all be so grateful.

(Yes, it is the lowest form of humour, but then yours was the lowest form of post.)

Errr...not wanting to take a great big slash all over your opinion or anything, but you're wrong.

What you are talking about there is organic vegetables, a recent study did indeed show that organic doesn't seem to carry more nutritional value.

The tests on these cheap chickens are very different. The mass produced chickens have been shown to contain significantly lower protein and other things...made even worse when they're pumped full of water.

It makes complete sense, a chicken that has been raised in conditions barely enough good enough to keep it alive isn't going to have grown and developed properly.

Yummmmmm yummmm these chickens are perfect for cooking and using in a curry or making home made sandwich fillers, hot:thumbsup:

So maybe they should relable it 'slimming chicken' and make a positive of its lack of protein?

Garlic's good for you too!

Lowest form of post ? Ok. Didn't think I said anything particularly outrageous.

Isn't the point of being able to comment to be able to state your opinion? Sure this is cheap but other factors have to be taken into account when assessing something's value.

The world would be a boring place if everyone agreed and looking at the heat it seems a lot of people disagree with me.

Tonik, I'm with ya! I'm very disapointed at some/most of the replys here. I'm no Tree Hugger or Animal Activivist or anything, if fact I cant even spell it! :) But What we are talking about it legalised Animal Cruelty. If this was your Dog, or Cat treated in the same way I'm sure you would not be so quick to jest. To be honest if I was hungry or a bit skint I'll most likely stoop to buying one of these but I aint proud of it like some on here seem to be. When I have the money I will buy Egg's and Chickens that are Free Range but I cant always.

I guess this could be seen as a Hot Deal but I'm still gonna vote Cold for the Moral aspect.

We live in a world that is now struggling to feed itself. Intensive farming of crops and food chain animals is now more important then ever.

Got a link to a scientific study which backs this up?. The significantly lower protein and "other things" claim I mean, I'm genuinely curious to know the difference.

Looks like chicken, tastes like chicken, who cares?, It's just a chicken!. In the real world it's more important that humans get fed. If chickens weren't produced in this way then there wouldn't be enough to go round and only the wealthy would get to eat meat.

You can't really compare a household pet you're emotionally attached to to an animal farmed purely for meat. Besides that we don't eat cats and dogs ;-) (at least not in the UK).

No, I'm not compairing Pets to Livestock. But Animal cruelty is Animal Cruelty, full stop. I am genuinely shocked at the level of disregard for Animal Welfare shown on this thread. Its like basic Humanity gets thrown out of the window when money for Fags and Booze gets a bit tight.:whistling:

I'm not sure there's any evidence that intensive farming has many postives at all beyond financial cost for consumers.

It takes 16 pounds of grain and more than 5,000 gallons of water to produce a single pound of meat which of course is vastly inefficient. If western society ate a little less meat there would be more than enough food to feed the world.

Feed the World, make it a better place! For me and for you and the entire human race...................:-D

Sorry about that. But what he' saying is spot on. I think we are wasting our time Tonik.

In your case you can buy one for £10 - will that make you feel better? I see you haven't been on here long, but surely long enough to know that every post about cheap chicken , cheap bicycles and anything Primark goes this way because it's a deals site and the majority are sick and tired of bleeding heart lefty agendas being played out on here.

Still good sport though!

I would play this for the little chickens, but unfortunatley I can't as my fingers are a wee bit greasy from cutting up my tasty cheap chicken.
#39
Not in Regent Road ,Salford last night they weren't!!
They were full price!!!!:x

You could stuff a chicken full of dog cr4p but people would still buy and eat it if it was cheap enough...if you really don't care about a living creature then it speaks volumes about you as a person!

...organic tastes better too!!
