I used to over buy if something was on offer and then end up having to throw it out as it went past its best before date.

When I make Chili Con Carne, I like using 50% beef mince and 50% quorn mince - great stuff!

Hot!

Great deal! Thanks.

Whats happening with Sainsburys and Quorn stuff?. Our local Sainsburys has just sold off all the quorn bangers for 40p a pack (shelf had been emptied). No cheap mince though.

Awful stuff, if you're looking to cut down on fat just get lean mince and at least have a tasty dinner...

If you're a veggie then there's no hope for you - this stuff will have to do for you.
#16
excellent price :)

If your a veggie can you tell me why do you have stuff that looks like meat, tastes like meat and is packaged like a meat product?
#18
if all is out of stock when you visit.... Iceland have these for 99p . 10p more but still cheap as. happy shopping.

Because then you can make meat based dishes (cottage pie, spaghetti bolognese, lasagne etc) without using an animal which has led a miserable life before being slaughtered?

Bit of a stupid question to be honest.

Don't get meat eaters. Why do they supplement their meat dishes with vegetables and pulses? Maybe some veggies actually enjoyed meat and meat dishes but not the thought something had to be slaughtered for them to have their meal. Pretty much leaves a bad taste in some peoples mouths. For me I miss the texture of meat, something that requires chewing, and quorn and cauldron replace that, allowing me to replicate most recipes that would normally require meat.

A lot of folk are vegatrians because they don't like the killing of animals, but still like the taste or texture of meat. I'm not vege, but like eating meat free products for this reason. Also actual red meat can be bad for you in quantity and meat replacement very high protein or low/zero fat. Been doing alot of experimenting with TVP lately with mixed results! but made a cracking bolognaise for 6, that was spot on - total cost of tvp (there was alot) - 40p.

Quorn mince a little more reliable for a tasty dish, and this is a good price - why not give it a go, and see what you think if you've not had it before?

Can you tell me why you bother with deals for veggies? :whistling:

You believe wrong. No mushrooms here.

It's made from industrially processed slime mould (fusarium venenatum) with egg white used as a binder.

It's actually quite unpleasant stuff, I'm a vegetarian and I wouldn't touch it with the proverbial bargepole.
