WOW!

(Warning: not really wow).

Right, sainsburys have got a buy one get one free deal on bakery stuff.

Last week they had a two for a pound deal on.

Both seem to be active, so I got 2 6 pack baps, buy one get one free, but they have also taken off 68p because it thinks I've bought 2, and I needed a refund to get me down to a £1

SO...

I've got 2 6 packs for ... 32p.

Deal rated as: "Lovely stuff" by me.

I remember getting some cakes at night a while back, when they had these offers on. Because it was late at night they'd reduced the price to less than half - but the till still gave me the discount on the full price! I can't remember the exact amounts, but for every two packs I had they were actually giving me money. The assistant didn't seem to realise or care. I went back in and got some more, combined with other goods - because otherwise she would have actually had to pay me :)

I've also encountered this at the Co-Op - and received the double discount/credit, but when this happened in Morrisons, the assistant called the manageres - and she refused to let me have the full discount on the reduced goods.

It seems none of the supermarket systems handles reduced prices + 2-for-1 at the same time. Probably programmed by an idiot :)

Argh, was in Sainsbury's earlier, would have grabbed some if I'd known.

The best deals are in waitrose when they reduce stuff in 2 for 1 offers etc. They end up paying you to take the products :)
#13
They've not changed this in years - used to do this in my student days. :D Just make sure they don't owe you anything or it won't work!

For the last couple of years in the local Sains they stick new yellow reduced bar codes over the standard bar code - these scan at the reduced price but then the bogof type offers no longer apply - used to be good but sadly no longer :(

may be store specific but i'll check tomorrow and get the admin girls to correct this

Any chance you could wait until after lunchtime?

Thanks for the comments people - BTW, there was no yellow stickers here, as i said last week the deal was 2 for £1, this week its B1G1F, but seemingly they forgot to take off the old deal

I would name the store, but if you look back (and are bored enough) you can work out my local store for yourself :P

They will probably have noticed by now, they usually leave errors til the next day. I'll be too busy to tell them anyway.

It's by one get one free. So you get 2 packs of 6 for 68p
You don't get 2 packs for 32p

sainsbury's are notorious for messing their prices up -i got PAID £50 for 'buying' a dyson hoover 3 years ago and does anyone remember the man in the paper who worked out that he made money from nectar points by buying bananas, so went round every sainsbury and bought every single one?

Yeah, it was Tescos - good on him though, giving them away is a generous gesture, although he still proved his point and made £25. Mindyou if he'd eaten them all he'd def have OD'd on pottasium.
