I'm off to Huddersfield Sainsburys:roll:
#8
the'yre on the bottom shelf at the very end wall near the ice cream :)

Nice bargain, but somehow they just really don't appeal, can kinda understand why they are reduced by so much - not their most popular range I wouldn't think!
#10
I love mushy peas :D I'll have a look in my local tomorrow to see if they've got them :)

I applaud you for posting a deal that's probably only at your local store :whistling:

Don't think this is a local store only deal...bought a pack tonight from the Bracknell (Bagshot Rd) store. As for eating them, i'll leave that until i'm feeling brave enough! :-D

Sound nice to me, Guess that makes me weird?
#13
Guys, they're quite alright. It's just standard oven breaded fish fillet. The mushy peas adds a bit fo texture to the fish and a slight green vegetable taste (plus a bit of salt), but that's about it. Couldn't really taste it.

The deal is very hot, but no wonder they're getting rid of it for cheap in some Sainsburys. £3.99 for this was always ridiculous, especially as the fish pieces are pretty small and you only get two of them. They were £2 (half price) at my Local Sainsburys for ages, and thats the maximum they should sell at.
#14
Voted hot just because it's a bargain. No chance will I even go with 10 feet of them!
#15
Who on earth thought of this? Surely mushy peas co on the side with a heap of chips, seems odd to add them to the inside of the coating??? Will try some though if I see them.
#16
These sound cracking.
Saves you having to make your own mushy peas.
Hot from me.
#17
mmmhhh....wonder if the cat will eat them,
if not I can always palm them off to the mother in law
#18
Great find OP! Heat added :)
#19
They should have 2 more layers - one with chips in it and one with tartare sauce.

Sainsburys always has stuff reduced towards the end of the day.....they will be store specific and to be honest I wouldn't wanna flood the site with deals that almost nobody could get as they'd need to get to my local store within half an hour before they close the doors and chuck them away.

these supermarket so called deals are ruining this website as its getting flooded with them ...and most are only posted for cheap heat as let's be honest, if someone posts a deal for tescos but you normally go Asda, you're hardly going to make a special extra trip to Tesco just to save 50p on a packet of tampons.

just my opinion though and I'm fully aware ill have the do-gooders telling me all these '5p off a packet of peas' supermarket deals are extremely usefull!

I agree. I spend so much time reading the trivial deals that I have no time left to pursue the good deals !
#22
Good spot mate.

Salt and pepper, a good splash of vinegar, and a splodge of tommy k and sorted!.
#23
Shame they cannot have chips in the base - then it is an all in one meal!
#24
I'd say a good deal and I also have a weird urge to see what these bad boys taste like.

I tire of the amount of sarcastic comments when someone has taken the time to post a deal. For 2 fish fillets whether or not with mushy peas on top, this is a bargain no matter what way you look at this.

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup: from me...
#25
I want to try these now just to see what they were like, i expect the peas wouldnt taste of much but would just as a different texture ? Anyway for this price its a bargain for the fish alone.
#26
Sweet baby Jesus, people eat this? :/
#27
fish and mushy peas, nice deal! i shall be walking up to get some today hopfully!

TO ALL THE HATERS:
do you like fish?
do you like mushy peas?
yes?
so whats the problem it all goes down the same way!
#28
Added to chips from my local chippy this will be epic tasty :) yum!
#29
I personally prefer to make my own mushy peas with a big dollop of mint sauce in!! I think some places sell minted mushy peas in tins for those who want an easier option!
Give it a go if you have never tried it before!

Still giving H&R for a decent deal.

Had to sign in just to say "that sounds disgusting!!!!!!!!!!!!!! too " but might try it one day as its on offer

some stuff is really out there:-)

"It all goes down the same way" Spoken like a true gourmet.
Perhaps I can try liquidising it and using a spoon?

Agreed. I think some sort of system on HUKD whereby these local-only, yellow sticker type deals are easily identifiable and seperated from the main deals page. It should at the very least have the location of the store (and say "Local Only: blah blah for £0.50p at LOCATION") so that you can just ignore it if you're in the 99.9% of other users of the site who wont have access to the deal.

Hey just to clarify these were in the freezer and not reduced at the end of the day. I've had reports that the deal is available in other areas (see thread page 1) I was in Sainsburys again earlier and they have restocked the freezer with them.

A good deal, but would rather go hungry! i was wondering though, after all the comments if the mushy pea fetish is a northern delicacy and if it is mainly southerners who are haters?
