Trust me when I say the luxor 40" with 5 year warranty for £10 less at richer sounds is a better deal.

These celcus tv's aren't the best

I have one of these and they work and sound just fine! It all comes down to personal taste I guess!

My parents got a 32" version of this last year and I frowned when they did not consult me first regarding quality TV's.

Pleased to say for them, the TV is great with a good picture. Can't fault it really.

Dont bother for a smart tv just get a roku or android tv box you ll have everything you need and will work alot better then the smart features of that tv.

I bought 48 inch of this tv. It is made by a company called Vestel and tbh it is not far from samsung panel. I spent 30 minutes calibrating adjusting all the settings and now got a very decent image with no ghosting or shades.

We bought a 32" one on black friday for my son, got it out the box tonight for checking before wrapping and the screen was cracked! Hubby's now gone off to exchange it!

With all that madness that went on in the stores on "Black Friday" there's no wonder the screen is cracked! :)

celcus is owned by luxor and some of their screen are made by LG. ( quick check on google as had never heard of them)

Is it because you had to wrestle for it?

Just been to Sainsburys and saw 3 people with this tv - I thought desperate purchase.... hope they got it at discounted price.

Seriously keep us up to date with that story - surely common sense would say check it after the scrap or why check it now? I have some balls when returning stuff but that is really pushing Christmas spirit!

Just been instore, 32 inch was 129, a 4k lg 42 inch was 499 and they had two 50" lg tv ' s for 360 and 399

I know he should of checked it before but there wasn't a scrap in our local store! They were too busy to argue, they said they had 29 out the back in case exchanges were required, exchanged no problem :-)

These are ok really with a soundbar, I have a Smart TV and never use it as Virgin Media has Netflix and I have the NowTV box.

I've had this tv for years and never had any issues with it :-) heat from me! Xx

I've got a smart bluray player that gives me everything i need in that aspect, as well as a chromecast so i'm pretty set. i've got a 3D television and i never watch anything in 3D so i'd probably want to change it largely for that reason.

I saw a 40' Celcus up and running iny my local Sainsburys last night and the picture looked brilliant to me.

Got it - looks great. Now to remove the old CRT one... any suggestions? Wonder if I leave it outside it will get taken :)

I bought one of these last christmas and returned it within a week. My experience was of a very poor quality product for what appeared to befairly reasonable price. I spent a bit more and got a better quality/brand.

In Sainsbury Pound Lane Norwich this is £159.99. Not £179.99

On a totally not really related note.

I bought my Nan a Celcus a couple of years ago. still going strong.

my question is does anyone know a big button universal remote that would work with it?

thanks

Most of the One For All replacement remotes can be programmed as long as you have the original remote - get one with big buttons and make it copy the Celcus remote.

Or contact Sainsbury's customer services and ask if there is a large button remote they can recommend.

Just bought one at sainsburys in greenwich peninsula, not bad for the price, speakers suck, but apart from that is ok, lots and lots of settings on a picture, so you can tune it to what you need. I have no idea on how long will it last, but I would recomend it if you are on a budget or just dont care for TV that much. The picture processing is not as good as on expensive TV's but if your source is good then the output will be good.

I bought the Celcus 40 inch TV on offer on 29th Dec in Wantage store. Excellent picture, but decided that Celcus Sound bar would improve sound. Bought one, plugged it in, didn't work.
Plugged it into neighbours, sound bar working correctly, so the set has a fault on the earphone socket.

Local store unable to do swap out as none in stock. Fo any local stores still have stock so I can do a 'swap out'?

Thank you
