what sandwiches are they(filling)

saw this in Southampton, the sandwiches had 'meal deal' on but no sign or info on what else that was in the deal, looks like a new thing and if so great price

It's replacing the old (and somewhat better imo, could get TTD sandwiches and cornish pastie and drink for £2.99) meal deal.

Basically you get any of the "low-tier" sandwiches (egg and sausage, tuna and sweetcorn, any of the ones in clear plastic packets), a drink (water or juice or coca cola) and a piece of fruit or packet of walkers crisps (i.e. not Walkers baked) for £2, just started today cos of promo changeover and we've had a whale of a time having to explain to customers that the meal deal's changed. .
#6
Im guessing you cant swap the sandwich for a wrap?
#7
Cold in my opinion - the old £2.99 meal deal they did was better value. I used to get a £5.00 lunch for £2.99 which included a premium sandwich or a wrap, snack (bag of apples or grapes, or Walkers crisps) and a drink (water, juice, or fizzy drink). I just got charged the full price today for them sneakily changing the offer today without making it clear.

Great deal - I got egg and bacon (£1.60), walkers crisps (40p) and highland spring (79p) all for £2. The bigger sandwiches are not included but generally they are around the £2 mark themselves so not a surprise. In the deal I believe are Prawn Cocktail, Cheese & Onion, Ham and Mustard, Egg and Bacon, Chicken and Stuffing plus maybe some others.

Preferred the 2.99 offer a lot more. Those TTD sandwiches were quite nice, and with a Copella and a fruit pack, you could get the value of your meal up to about £4.60-80 and only pay the three quid. The rubbish sandwiches don't appeal at all.

(Not voted).

these sandwiches are rubbish. i prefer the 2.99 deal from boots as you get any drink you want and any snack not just crisps.

Seems everyone is doing a £2 meal deal at the moment.

The store I work in has never done the £2.99 Meal Deal but we are doing the £2 meal deal. Sandwiches will probably vary from store to store as well as we don't stock some of the ones that have been listed above.

I like the Boots one. You can get a £2.80 sandwich, a £1.10 cake and a £1.80 drink for £3.49 (similar combinations available). And if you buy five in a month (using an Advantage card) you get one free :)

You mean the individual prices actually are:-

£2.80 for a sandwich
£1.10 for a bit of cake
£1.80 for a drink

They actually charge this? If so these are so overpriced. I mean what sort of a drink for £1.80?

Innocent Smoothies are included in the offer and £1.79 is the standard price for the small bottles everywhere. Even in supermarkets.
#17
Pretty much identical deal as Tesco and very similar to the asda oasis deal.

When I made a thread on asda's cheap breakfasts I had the thread deleted because similar offers were on at other supermarkets.
#18
Tesco includes 330ml of pure orange, walkers crisps and chicken and bacon pasta. Not going to vote on this as its still a good deal, just that there are better selections elswhere.
#19
thats a meal deal to me. good find

Oh thats not so bad then - I thought we were talking about bottled water or a can of coke here!

COLD from me sorry. Went into Sainsbury's at dinner, selected my regualar £2.99 meal deal only for the bloke on the till to tell me the old offer isn't on anymore.

He told me the new £2 was set up in competition with Tesco's and that they've already had tons of complaints from customers about the withdrawal of the old deal. He reckoned the old on will be back within two weeks.

I know this deal is £1 cheaper but for the sake of an extra quid you got MUCH MUCH more on on the old deal.

Major own goal Saninsbury's!

saw this in ipswich yesterday and thought it was a bit rubbish as you could only have walkers crisps as the snack and water or coke as the drink.
I usually get the duck wrap, carrot cake and innocent smoothie in boots and would much rather pay the 99p extra for that!
#23
Sainsburys didnt do the other deal in all stores, pity or i would buy in my local store more often. When i went to Camden i walked into their local, and got the deal with TTD etc. Should roll it out everywhere and scrap this £2 customers.

Anyway not really on a par with Boots. Esp if you get a fullsize dairy milk or big bag of maltesers i/o crisps there. Current BOGOF on sprite etc means you get

2 sprites £1.10 x 2
sandwich /salad upwards to £3
Large confectionary or crisps up to £1.80 ish so £2.99 for apx £7 at the mo :)

PLUS Buy 5 get one free on whole deal over month:thumbsup:

I usually get the exact same deal combination and for that reason this is very cold from me.

Tesco deal includes option of Walker's Bakes as well as crisps, I know as I had some Cheese & onion bakes in my £2 deal today at lunch.
