yes - i have just cooked them

i then placed them on my plate

cut into one

placed a portion of it into my mouth

masticated a little

chucked the rest straight in the bin, including what was left in the box

i'm not in any way a fussy eater but these were utterly 'orrible

You're a wrong un!

I thouroughly enjoy popping a cheese crispy pancake in a sandwich. It's manor from heaven.

My office is close to the place they make em. Was a fire a few months back and they've closed the plant making everyone redundent.

You'll not have them much longer, guess what's out there is whats left.

Shame so many people were made jobless.

Great bargain thanks

I remember picking up a packet when I was a student. They looked a bargain, but one taste and they were destined for the bin :p

Good riddance I say.
#10
They're not too bad with beans for a quick lunch but 32p is about the most I'd pay for them

They were made on behalf of Findus, under licence at this factory by Newcastle Production, who were placed in administration in January 2009. Then suprise suprise a fire burnt the factory down.

Production now transfered to another factory - shops gradually getting new stock in -

You guys are so fussy... you should see what the missus serves up if I let her into the kitchen... by comparison these are food from heaven!! :whistling:
#13
I love most things cheese and Findus things are usually good, but these are just awful. I honestly wouldn't pay 32p for them.

Not going to vote either way, but I genuinely recommend people stay away from these.
#14
I tried them once (cheese and the mushroom ones) hoping that they would resemble the Iglo ones I used to have as a child.
It rather resembles "cardboard filled with tasteless goo".
I wouldn't eat it if they paid me for it.
#15
Oh no I've just read everyones comments....

I LOVE them, all kinds
#16
They are vile i agree!!
#17
Up there with Mini Kievs, The Full Monty (or its derivatives), Fray Bentos (any kind), Golden Drummers, Campbells Meatballs and the 'new' Pot Noodle as some of the most disgusting concotions on the market.
#18
What do people expect for 32p for heavens sake! I mean, a. Pot Noodle is 3 times more expensive than these and about the same nutritional value so you could say these are a bargain.

Are people expecting it to be a la carte for 32p ? Hahaha...some people on here make me laigh!
#19
These are my guilty pleasure, I love them!!

32p? Buy yourself an apple, make a cheese sandwich, cook a real pancake (free range egg of course), beans on toast, soup, there are lots of decent things to eat for 32p, and that doesn't include these revolting salty slop filled so called pancakes!

Yuk yuk yuk, and the minced 'beef' ones are even worse! What the hell do they put in those???

What exactly is your point? People should just eat it because it's 32p? Who said they were expecting 'a la carte'?

I don't even think you'll know what your point is; too busy 'laighing' inanely I expect.

Anyone remember Gino Ginelli? (or something like that?) they did the best crispy pancakes! The Cheese and ham one was fantastic! But vanished off the face of the earth for some reason?!!

Think they did a range of things including ice creams/pizzas

but my point is that these are not meant to be a staple healthy diet Item, they are just an alternative cheap snack....they are not meant to replace an apple (lol) its just a convenient food.

I've not eaten one for about 15 years but I can still vote it hot because its a good price, just because its not a healthy snack doesn't mean it can't be a hot deal.

No-one is on about 'health benefits', most snacks don't have them. A packet of crisps has no health benefits but people don't complain.

The problem people have is that they're revolting, but you seem to think this is acceptable and people shouldn't complain about the taste because they're 32p. That makes no sense.

I genuinely wouldn't eat these if they were free. I bought some when they were 60p and, like many people it seems, ended up throwing them all away.

I could spend 32p in much better ways than this - even if that meant eating 1/3 Pot Noodle.

Hot!
Good if you don't have any tastebuds left to experience the blandness as these don't really taste of anything anyway, just crunchy card and slime textures. Better off with an apple or egg as earlier poster suggested.
#32
I only liked the curry ones but they stopped making them.

She's a food scientist and used to work for Findus heading up a small product development team - probably about 20 years ago now. Crispy pancakes were one of her projects that obviously came to see supermarket shelves. They've changed a lot since then though, so I doubt the ones you get today are even remotely like the originals apart from the appearance. Still a good dinner table story though :)

That's 'YOUR' opinion though...are you saying everyone should share 'YOUR' opinion in disliking the taste?

Voting cold because you personally don't like the taste is both childish and short-sighted.

I don't buy them or like them but I think getting them for 32p is a half decent deal.

Put it this way.....I dont like the taste of cabbage, but if someone put a deal up saying cabbage reduced to 5p in Tesco I wouldn't post up 'urgh tastes horrible, wouldn't buy it if it was free, voted cold' cos that would be silly.

It doesn't have to be something YOU like for it to be a good deal or not.

I agree spensuma, personally I can't stand these things but I wouldn't knock the price. In the broader context of processed ready meals (none of which are that good imo) these are really very cheap and so heat is deserved in this case. I don't like pot noodles but I dont begrudge others "enjoying" them and if they're 2p a pot then again I would say it was a good deal.

the factory burnt down last year , i thought they'd closed?. I assume someone bought them or helped them out
