In the games section i noticed Sainsburys were doing official Xbox 360 Wireless N Network Adapters for £34.97 down from £49.97. This was in The Middlesbrough store, I suspect this may be nationwide as it had one of the large printed ticket below with £15 off.

£5 more but Instock and is still a very good price. If you can't find one.

Nice price for one of these if you're looking for the real deal. I got one of the Tenda routers for £12.50 instead and used it as a repeater next to the XBOX. It picks up the wirless from downstairs, then you plug in a network cable from that to the XBOX and you have XBOX Live working wireless via that repeater. Add £27 for a year of Live and it's all done for about £40!

Voted hot, it's still a great price for this product itself.

Being very ignorant here and hoping someone might be able to help!

Can you use this to transfer music files from your laptop to hard drive on Xbox? My husband recently bought us a hard drive for our Arcade and I am not sure the best way to get our music onto it.

Hope someone might be able to help and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Nope - there is no simple way to transfer music (or videos) from elsewhere onto your xbox360 hard drive. Its one of the things I hate so much about the 360.

You can do it by one of the xecuter hard drive kits I believe (but its not completely straightforward), and the only other way is to burn all your songs as standard audio CD's, then reimport them onto your 360. Not really a realistic solution though as if you're anything like anyone else, your 10000 strong mp3 collection will take about 600 blank CD's and three months of work to transfer across!

The only other things you can do, is to purchase a standard 2.5" external usb hard drive. Format it to FAT32. Put all your songs on there, then you can just plug it into your 360 and play the songs directly from that hard drive. Plug it back into your PC when you need to transfer more songs across to it.

Or, slightly more technical (and what I do personally), connect your 360 to your home network (either via ethernet cable, or wireless adapter as this thread is for), then purchase a Network attached external hard drive (An external hard drive that you can plug directly into your network via ethernet) that supports or comes with Twonkymedia. You can just leave this permanantly attached to your network - your PC's can always see it as any other normal hard drive, your 360 can always play music/video directly from it. Thats the short story anyway - but it works out to be by far the best option available to you!

Alternatively, just enable media sharing on media player (or set up media centre if you have it) on your laptop/pc. Your 360 can stream directly from there, although obviously this means permanantly having your PC/laptop on - which I personally would never do!

It will not help you physically move the music on to the xbox hard drive, but it will allow you to stream the music from your laptop with windows media centre extender.

There is an update for xbox coming out that will allow you to plug in usb storage which you could load with music.

Weird, was in my Sainsbury's this morning and it was marked at £44.99, wondered if the OP's was a misprice? Discounting the N version rather than the G? Anyone else managed to pick one up from a different branch than the OP to confirm it is nationwide.
#15
None in Swansea, they had the wireless-G model for £35.
#16
I just use my network and play music from my laptop intead of importing them

Brought one today at my local Sainburys in Leicester for £34.97. Wireless "N" version

None on display, so just asked if they had any in stock and 2 minutes was parting money for goods.

Thank you very much.

Weird cos we go into Sainsburys most Saturday evenings before collecting our takeaway from the Cottage and I always look down the games section and the wireless n dvd case (With the picture on) is normally there at £49.97. However, when I collected mine last weekend the dvd case wasn't on the shelf but the woman had reserved me one earlier after I spoke to her on the phone and told me there were 3 left. God knows why you didn't get one then!!!
Just FYI, I collected mine on Saturday 27th!!

Got one last night at Castle Boulevard, Nottingham. Had to wait a while after asking at Customer Service desk, but for £34.99, it was worth it. Didn't need to install CD either, just plug and play if your Xbox has all updates.
#28
Took the newspaper ad in to PCWorld and they were happy to price match, result as my local sainsburys didn't have stock.
#29
Collected one today in Shrewsbury, had to ask at the entertainment desk! Thanks OP! :D
#30
No Sainsburys with games stuff near me. But got the same 1 from Asda today for £40. Was using connection through laptop but connection needed resetting after one of the units was switched off then on again, got p'd off with it and the wires and having to have the laptop on so all good now :-)
Not as cheap but still an ok deal - didn't want to save £20 or so by having a cacky bridge and another socket taken up with more junk kicking about.
