Yuk, would never touch these things with a barge pole. You don’t know what germs are being spread by the great unwashed poking around in them.

As I said, rather you than me, also salad bars are way overpiced compared to making it yourself from fresh ingredients.

"Raw produce at the salad bar, pre-made salads at the deli counter and other pre-cooked prepared foods all have the potential for harbouring harmful bacteria (like E. coli, salmonella and Norovirus). "The biggest contributors to unsafe food are foods that are held at unsafe temperatures, handling of food by individuals with poor hygiene, and refilling partially used containers of perishable food with fresh food," says Michael Doyle, Ph.D., director of the Centre for Food Safety"

first of all making it yourself means you have to buy much more than one portion of each ingredient...

everythings bad for you, i take it your one of them people who washes thier hands every two minutes? well you turn the tap on with your dirty hands... clean them and turn the tap off... which in turn puts the rubbish back onto your hands .... brilliant.

I don't think that's true now is it? Otherwise why are the government ramming down our throats (no pun intended) about picking up the virus on your hands from public surfaces and therefore recommending washing your hands every 10 mins. I can't recall ever inhaling anything off my hands...

Are you the person whos been causing the nhs direct line to crash recently?
.................
Also have u participated in stocking up on the swine flu drugs via a google search because your doctor wouldnt give them to you.

Do tell.

This thread is LOL:-D

Hot deal this ... have not got sick ever from the salad bar (neither from the one at Harvester and that one can be scary at times with all the kids poking about in them)

other day i saw a scruffy kid grab a boiled egg then throw it back then put a hand full of Bacon bits in his mouth the mother just laughed at him, put me off these for good..
#19
Well should be OK for me as I don't liked boiled eggs ...
Of course if you listen long enough certain people will tell us that ALL Supermarket Food is infected with chav induced fingers - but I go with the theory that what we don't know won't kill us.:whistling:

Not in stevenston must be store specific.

I hope we have it in Reading. Will check tonight.

I think they should change the name of this website from "hotukdeals.com" to "ive-got-nothing-better-to-do-and-want-to-have-a-rant.com" as thats all some saddo's want to do!

For anyone who regularly buys salad at morissons this is a GREAT DEAL - for others who are frightened of catching germs, DONT BOTHER - but why feel the need to rant on this site? GO AWAY! Have a rant to your friends (if you've got any) down at the pub instead! (although that would be impossible as they might not have washed the glasses thoroughly, oooohh noooooo!!!)

Its always the same on here - you can guarantee that if there's a post for one of the big multi-national companies eg Starbucks, the PC brigade will be out lecturing us about eco-social-or whatever issues.

Lets just keep it simple - if its a great deal, VOTE HOT, if its not a good deal and can be found comparable and cheaper elsewhere, VOTE COLD!! As the advert says, "Simples!!".

Rant over I guess?

Its a stamford thing i think but still a great deal all the same
#25
Sorry but cold for me as not in Reading.
#26
I won't be trying the salad bar.

It may not kill me with infection, but it evidently kills off a high number of brain cells looking at this thread.

did you know salads are the best breeding ground for colonizing bacteria?
