Its not easy being tall or tubby (believe me I know!) but High and Mighty ease the pressure of finding clothes to fit, right now they have a massive sale on with some T-shirts usually £20+ reduced to £7 and lots of other quality clothes at keen prices

Admitedly the £69 shirts reduced to £10 are hideous!

I've always found High and Mighty excellent, they despatch from their stores so if they haven't got stock at one store they might split your delivery over a couple of packages, but they never charge extra postage, communication is excellent and the help line is quick to be answered by real people who know what they are talking about. I buy a lot from their & and Kayak ranges and the quality is aways spot on :)

Clearly if you pass 20 no one cares if your clothes fit well. :-D :-D :-D

Its also a pity - if you have a 52 inch chest and a 34 waist - anything they sell you looks like maternity wear for men.

Reminds me a bit of Homers Moo Moo.

I must admit, I have a 20" neck and finding shirts that don't flap like a sail in high wind is almost impossible.

[SIZE=3]I think I have only ever bought 4 or 5 items, a suit & a few shirts there over the years - pathetic quality, shaped for 5' tall old men at exorbitant prices, & with labelled goods at simply unbelievable prices. I later found local far cheaper alternatives for shopping and never needed to go back. That was in the 90's - I was enormous, but got fit, got used to being able to buy LABELS for cheaper than a cheap t-shirt at "outsize" prices, but I got much more disabled, & following on from being barely able to walk, I got enormous again, unfortunately I lost the physical means of getting fit again, but with the difference that this time I don't have the income to be able to buy expensive clothes.

No worry, I can still do a hell of a lot better than this! H&M "SALE" Ben Sherman shirts (in very few sizes) at 47 quid a pop..... yeah, sure! When the FIRST place I Googled for has a page of choice for 27 to 40 quid! http://www.bigshirts.co.uk/4xl-ben-sherman-shirts-256-c.asp

(I have never used this company, just picked off the page!)

Reasonable stuff is out there, some choice in labels even, it can be hard to find, but High & Mighty just take the P***

I forgot to mention, the 7 quid shirt shown - I have enough to contend with in life, wearing that shirt shown would be more than I can bear! Look out Denis The Menace! ;-)

I'm really suprised by these responses, I'm 6'3" with a 44" waist and I find the Kayak and & brand ranges are really good, Kayak especially seem really good quality and I have a number of their polo shirts that I wear to work and have been washed many many times and still look good, in comparison to the Marks and Spencer ones I have which are much more faded from the same wear. One thing I find about the kayak stuff which is great is that it doesn't tend to shrink much upwards when washed, this is a real good if you are tall because you don't end up showing your midrift to all and sundry.

Anyway I'll leave it at that

Why does anyone with a 44" waist need to buy from an expensive specialist shop at all? OK generally the range is reduced over about 38 to 40 waist, but not a major problem.
ANYWHERE and everywhere sells clothes of this size - I am 6' tall, 46/48 waist & 58/60 chest and even I can still buy some clothes (Trousers usually) in conventional shops, and I know people of 6'3" tall and more that would not know High & Mighty even existed! Jeans in particular are very available in 36" inside leg.

Invariably "oversize" shops sell clothing that has EXACTLY the problem you and I describe: they are too SHORT - as I said earlier, they are designed for 5' tall old men! :-(

30 quid for a no-label Polo shirt! Come on!
In particular, Nike Polo shirts are VERY long, much longer than any other brand I have owned, and they most definitely fit a 44" chest. (Compare Adidas sizes - everything is small, even shoe sizes!)

As for fading, that's at least 90% what you wash them in!
Even 2 quid Tesco t-shirts don't fade much at all if you wash them in the right stuff!.... mind you, they probably are better use as cloths for polishing the car!

yeah the prices at High & Mighty have come down a bit as they have been taken over, but still get much cheaper at internet only retailers, in the past few months I've used http://www.bigdudeclothing.co.uk & http://www.bigfishclothing.co.uk and both have been very good. Big Dudes is marginally cheaper than Big Fish...
