I'd imagine so, the read/write speeds are quite high for this price (15mb/s and 10mb/s respectively)

The original deal was just the PNY one (45 mins to write 16GB!).

Lexar one looks great value.

Yes it was just that one to start with and the op put others on and then had the cheek to say in one of my deals that it had been posted already X)

Think MyMemory are doing some cracking deals, but I'm a bit of a novice when it comes to read/write speeds. Not sure whether its best to go for a USB with a cheaper price tag, or pay a little more for better speed. Would be generally used for transferring documents or other files up to 4GB. Can anyone shed some light on this please?!

Sorry - didn't mean to offend! Went onto MyMemory, and the PNY USB was the first one I came across which I thought was a great deal worth posting. I saw the other deals stated above straight after, and added them to the original post at the same time (instead of creating further posts). Its after this I saw your post, and made a point to say the deal had been posted already. Happy to remove the 16GB Transcend reference altogether, or acknowledge you, if that helps!

Definitely worth paying a tiny bit extra for a fast one - months later you won't care so much about the price and will only care about ease of use.

I bought an 8gb Patriot XT Xporter, which is one of the fastest at a reasonable cost, and it has been a joy to use. OTOH the 8gb Sandisk Cruzer Micro has barely seen any use, as it far too slow to bother with. The Patriot cost me maybe £16 at the time, while the Sandisk was £8-9, and by far the Patriot was better value.

This is why this time around instead of one of the cheaper 16gb options (such as PNY), I've sent away for this one: http://www.mymemory.co.uk/USB-Flash-Drives/Corsair/Corsair-16GB-GT-Rugged%2C-Water-%26-Shock-Resistant-USB-Flash-Drive for £20.99 at the time (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Corsair-16GBGT-Rugged-Resistant-CMFUSB2-0-16GBGT/dp/B00154QAX6/ref=pd_sim_computers_3)
