13. Fresh flowers: A pinch of salt added to the water of fresh cut flowers will make them last longer.

Quite the opposite! :w00t:

Salt is used in horticulture as a herbicide. Salt KILLS plants.

A sugar solution can prolong the life of many cut flowers. What ever you do, don't ever add salt to the water for fresh flowers.
