Many thanks.

Anyone got experience with these?
I got some w8 style pedals on my hybrid - which are excellent for grip, but are really chewing up my army boots I normally wear.
Reckon these will be a less aggressive on the footwear?

Recently bought a GT 29er that came with, as described, basic flat pedals.

Would these be a good upgrade? Am I missing something about pedals as basic seem fine?

Did replace the saddle - damn uncomfortable - bought a spoon charge :)

Just to be completely clear about this:

9/16" pedals are standard for all MTB and hybrid bikes but many BMX are 1/2". If you have a BMX, I'd get a ruler out to check as some are now 9/16 as the gap between BMX and MTB trials is closed.

Good deal :)

I bought these as my standard ones that came with the bike snapped (Well one did) Their not heavy and although the grip is good they don't seem to rip into footwear. So for me i'm happy with these.

Main thing with pedals is weight/material and whether they have toe clips, cleats to attach to your footwear. Another thing to be aware of is if you're removing pedals (especially cheap pedals as they'll probably need a pedal wrench/rod) make sure you have the proper tools required, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmPkYMPVqQU explains it depending on what pedals you have.

If your feet aren't slipping off and you have all the grip you need, I wouldn't worry.

The really flat pedals I had on my hybrid not only lacked grip in the wet, but weren't great for bunny hopping, especially when there's often 10kg+ extra on the back over standard.

Cool -- ty.

I wear trainers with a sole almost like football boots and they seem to gel well re grip.

Thank you both :)
