Good quality scale at the cheapest I have ever seen (Check the reviews on Amazon), before the usual negative remarks, YES you can get a scale from the supermarkets for a couple of quid, but this is a good quality digital scale, especially important for those budding pastry chefs.

Good thing about the scale is the digital display is visible when you have big bowls on the platform.

John Lewis Spiel

Digital scale with a sleek, circular stainless steel platform. Weighs up to 5kg (11lb), can also measure liquids and has an add and weigh facility.

These are good scales, I have them at home. Use them in the kitchen and for weighing letters and parcels for posting.

Only let down by the fact they use an expensive CR2032 battery rather than a simple AAA, and don't seem to switch off as easily as I'd like them to (i.e. you can't switch them off if the pressure applied to the scales is changing).

If you think CR2032 batteries are expensive, then you haven't looked!
I would prefer AAs too, as I would use rechargeable, but having only had to order some batteries for my bathroom scales yesterday, I went to ebay and paid £1.48 for 2 branded ones, delivered.
The original batteries have lasted 10 years

My kitchen scales have not had new batteries yet in at least 4 years since I bought it!

even cheaper in ebay, I prefer this type of battery for scales than the AA type last much longer.

20 pounds at Argos:

Who says Argos is always cheaper? Do research when buying sth! I also bought this scale and it works great.

I don't know, who does?

Never heard it said, certainly not on here!

Well, some people think that Argos is always cheaper than a high end store like John Lewis, so they don't do their research.

The question was a rhetorical one, noone said that in the post. But it might exist in some people's mind. I was trying to be helpful by adding heat to the post and by stating that in another store (Argos) its price is higher.

Surely the whole point of a well researched post here is that it should be dearer, EVERYWHERE else!

Now £12.60 and still way cheaper than everywhere else!

Good product and nice and easy to store.
