I went to my local shop down Bexleyheath today and saw three copies of this game all priced up at £12.99, with no special label, just the regular price-tag sticker, in comparison to the £24.99 wated for the game online at Game.

The Sam & Max episodes let players guide the Freelance Police through a series of bizarreand often sidesplittingmysteries. Sam is a six-foot dog in a baggy suit sporting a trombone-sized .44 hand-cannon. Max is a three foot "rabbity thing" with a saw blade grin and the impulsive nature of the average piranha. Together they patrol the sticky streets of a fantastical New York City, righting wrongs, pummeling perps, and ridding the urban landscape of the shifty legions of "self-propelled gutter trash" that litter their streets. Sam & Max have appeared in comics, video games, an animated TV series coming soon to DVD, and an Eisner award-winning webcomic.

The game has received very mixed reviews, most likely due to the point-and-click style of the game, with anaverage of 73, with Official Nintendo Magazine rating it 85, saying: "We loved it, but we understand a lot of people might not. A niche experience then, but a great one".

Seems like a good price for me, never seen it instore myself but for that price I'll look next time!
if you think the wiimote would make this game a great experience, your wrong.

the game has brief pauses mid-game almost constantly. whenever you go to investigate an object sam will pause while his speech is loading.

what makes it worse is that when people do talk the beginning word, or the last word of what they say is cut off.

the driving sequence is truly dire in the first episode. and i dont mean dire from a gameplay point of view, purely technically the driving section is atrocious.

if you have a pc get it for that, its a great game with good humour, and one of a dieing breed, but dont get it for the wii. i would vote cold for this even if it was free.

I have to agree-I was really excited that this was out for the wii as I loved the original pc game but I was hugely disppointed.
Gameplay is fairly rubbish so my advice is buy it for the pc (if you haven't already!).
good info thanks :)
