I went to my local shop down Bexleyheath today and saw three copies of this game all priced up at £12.99, with no special label, just the regular price-tag sticker, in comparison to the £24.99 wated for the game online at Game.
The Sam & Max episodes let players guide the Freelance Police through a series of bizarreand often sidesplittingmysteries. Sam is a six-foot dog in a baggy suit sporting a trombone-sized .44 hand-cannon. Max is a three foot "rabbity thing" with a saw blade grin and the impulsive nature of the average piranha. Together they patrol the sticky streets of a fantastical New York City, righting wrongs, pummeling perps, and ridding the urban landscape of the shifty legions of "self-propelled gutter trash" that litter their streets. Sam & Max have appeared in comics, video games, an animated TV series coming soon to DVD, and an Eisner award-winning webcomic.
The game has received very mixed reviews, most likely due to the point-and-click style of the game, with anaverage of 73, with Official Nintendo Magazine rating it 85, saying: "We loved it, but we understand a lot of people might not. A niche experience then, but a great one".
